More shows to be added - rumor
Okay, this is pretty much a rumor since I at this point I can't verify it 100% to be true. I've been unofficially tipped off to the following:

Supposedly, the Manchester gig is not a one-off. It is not even the start of the tour.
Supposedly, there are more dates to be added BEFORE the Manchester gig.
Supposedly, a second M.E.N. show will be added (May 23) if the first one sells out.
Supposedly, some of the the additional shows will be announced next week.

I just got off the phone with two of my booking friends in Texas and they have been asked for dates in Dallas and Austin in "clubs" by CAA for Morrissey shows in early Spring... I also talked to a booker in Chicago who hasn't been offered anything to date, so this looks like it would primarily be a southwest tour.

Not sure if these are real or not, but I guess we'll find out in a few months. The French part says "Please support this singer by buying his disc when it is on sale!"

Support will come from Franz Ferdinand. Morrissey's first album for seven years, "You are the Quarry", comes out on May 17. The first single, "Irish Blood, English Heart", is out on May 10. Morrissey Sings From The 'Heart' On New Album - Billboard, Feb. 23, 2004

A Billboard item on the new album. Contains extensive quotes from the Sanctuary press release, as well as some other interesting tidbits about Morrissey signing Nancy Sinatra to the Attack imprint.

Excerpt:

Morrissey has also begun scouting bands to sign to Attack and has inked a deal with Nancy Sinatra to release a new album on the imprint. That set will feature an as-yet-untitled Morrissey-penned song.

Hello Everyone. You are bidding on a painting of Morrissey, entitled "Saint Morrissey" by Los Angeles artist, Lee Gilmore. The painting measures 11x14 and is mixed media. Oil on wood with a surrounding border of pennies and bottle caps. The bottle caps read "Viva Hate". This a great item for the extreme Moz fan. The only one in it's existence. Happy bidding and good luck.

The first in the series of a new BBC Radio Four comedy show featured a parody song “I Never Went Through a Smiths Phase” and a few other Morrissey references.

Pretty good, I thought, but I’m sure many will disagree. It can be listened to via the website (at least until the new show replaces it, 11.00pm GMT Thursday 26th). Follow the link below and select “Mitch Benn’s Crimes Against Music” - he relevant section is three and a half minutes in.

From the BBC News Site:

"Colin Murray and Edith Bowman will take over from Radio 1's Mark Radcliffe and Marc Riley, the BBC has confirmed.
Radcliffe and Riley, aka Lard, are leaving Radio 1 on 26 March for slots on Radio 2 and 6 Music".
____________

Disappointing news, because along with Janice Long, Mark and Lard are probably BBC Radio's biggest Morrissey fans and were definitely the most likely DJ's to play new Morrissey songs on their afternoon slot. It's particularly bad timing and a real shame that new Morrissey material is now very unlikely to be heard on UK daytime Radio 1.

'Satan Rejected My Soul' mimed in Vic & Bob Series
British comedians Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer's new, surreal and hilarious series, "Vic and Bob in Caterick", currently showing on BBC3, had a clip in episode 2 where the story's bad guy mimed along to 'Satan....' this week.

The clip lasted for approx 90 seconds and contained the baddie getting out of his car to the rip-roaring start of the song then he performed the song to camera on his way into the program's hotel (the chorus was omitted so the song jumped from the first 2 or 3 verses to the "haul me in, call me in" bit).

The clarity of the song was good so there was no mistaking the source of the voice.

Perhaps symbolic of Moz's re-birth into the media?

Unfortunatley, if you missed it, you won't get another chance for the time being as it's two repeats have already passed....
