"As you all probably know by now..."Drifting & Tilting: The Music of Scott Walker" will take place Nov 13-15 at the Barbican in London. Scott will NOT be performing, but Damon Albarn, Jarvis Cocker, Dot Allison, Gavin Friday and others will be, along with strings and band - including the amazing Hugh Burns and most likely, pork-puncher Alisdaire Malloy.

Following the Friday Nov 14th show, yours truly will be DJ'ing after the show at the Barbican's Friday Lates Lounge, reprising the popular "Scott Walker Lounge" set that I toured around to some film festivals. After a few hours worth of The Drift and Tilt, a little "Stormy" will no doubt soothe our troubled souls.

The following Saturday Nov 15th afternoon, the Barbican cinema will be screening "Scott Walker - 30 Century Man" before that night's performance and I'll be on hand to do a Q&A.

And then...yes folks...on December 17th in NYC, "Scott Walker - 30 Century Man" will begin a limited theatrical run in North America. More details to be announced soon... (and don't even ask why it took so long - it's been painful but it will be worth the wait. Thanks to everyone who has helped keep the dream alive!)

And, to celebrate the US release, our friends at Universal Records will be making a nice, juicy "Best Of" available digitally - currently it is very hard to get SW digitally (and legally) in the US. I've consulted on the track list and it should be a nice collection. Fans will have it all, but for the newcomers, especially those who come to the film cold and leave converts, it will be a great place to start. AND...

Working with Lakeshore records to produce a Scottt Walker tribute album, also to coincide with the US release. So far, artists signed up include Saint Etienne, Dot Allison, Jarboe, Damon & Naomi, Bee & Flower, Stephanie Dosen, Nicloe Atkins, Laurie Anderson, Ulrich Schnauss, Peter Broderick, The Duke Spitit and Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth). An eclectic crew to be sure. Wanted to hear as many female voices take on the great Scott. Should be brilliant!

So - that should do it for now. You're the first to hear the news - official announcements about the release and albums should start to appear soon. We're hoping to hit at least 20 cities before the DVD drops a bit later in 09.

Until then, see you at The Scott Walker Lounge...

    "And we'll dream, won't we?"

we went on the saturday, we was also late so we missed Jarvis.

but at the end i saw Scott walker at the sound mixing desk. Damon Alban waved and blew kisses at him at the end when the preformers were taking their bows. Sw nodded and smiled, hidden under a baseball cap...he was also chewing gum

    Hello all,

Want to start with a 'thank you' to everyone who came to see the film at the Barbican and who drifted into the Lates Lounge following the "Driftiing & Tilting" performance. It was a brilliant weekend. I didn't think there was anyone left in London who had not seen the film so the full house and engaging Q&A was a real treat.

As for the US release - LA has officially booked! Our fledgling theatrical run looks like this now:

NYC. IFC Center. opens Dec 17th

San Francisco/Berkeley. Landmark Cinemas. opens Jan 23

Los Angeles. Landmark NuArt. opens Feb 27.

We're lining up more dates as of NOW. Stand by.

NETFLIX: For all US fans. PLEASE do us a huge favor. If you are Netflix users, add "Scott Walker - 30 Century Man" to your queue. Even though the DVD release date is unknown, the film is in the system. The greater the pre-rental demand is, the more units the buy! Thanks.

NY is fast approaching. We need to knock this one out of the park so please, whatever you can do to spread the good word, do it. Even if you convince one person to go see it, it will help. It's kind of like voting! A big turnout in NY is like winning a primary. The future of the film depends on it. SCOTT NEEDS YOU.

    Many thanks,

    Stephen K

Thanks to all who made it out for the opening Wednesday of "SW30" in NYC- a great time was had by all...but now the real work begins. Friday and Saturday. Weekend numbers for small films are really important. So, just writing (yet again) to ask you to alert every potential Scott Walker obsessive you may know in NY about the film and urge them to GO. Post it, blog it, forward it. Anything you can do is greatly appreciated.
