A while back, I wrote an entry about the band The Wars, from Berlin....
Well, there is a song of theirs called "England", and the download is free, you can find it here:
http://thewars.bandcamp.com/album/england-single
You can download or just listen...
And their other downloads are here: http://thewars.net/index05disco.html#playengland

It's brilliant!
These guys sound sooo Manchester, it's difficult to reconcile that they're Berliners.
I had forgotten that I had downloaded it back in the Summer and a few weeks back, my husband ran
across it on the hard drive and played it. I heard it, and couldn't remember who it was and started running through the obvious "sound-a-likes"..."Who is this?" I kept asking him.
"Who do you think it is?" This is a standard response to this question when I ask it, about whomever, because he knows I have this incredibly strange knack for picking out sounds and their creators.
I listed everybody in The Wars' collection of influences, but failed to come up with the correct band.
So, it's good enough you could mistake them for some classic bands, it just sounds like new material.
So, this morning, I sat down to listen to some music, and there it was on the top of the playlist.
I looked back at the original entry about them, and realised I hadn't included this, so here is the amendment.
I hope you like it!

Oh, without a doubt! Lead singer has such a rich, deep voice, doesn't he?!
They really remind me a lot of The Chameleons and Interpol, as well.
Like I said, we've all heard the formula before, it's just a few different variables!
I'm keen on all my old, comfortable music, especially with all the dirge that gets churned out these days!
I am so pleased you liked it!
