  1. The special features on the region 1 DVD of Fear & Loathing...! It's a video! Oops, I meant Thompson! Sorry! I didn't even know about that book! You've made my day! Yes, a lot of people don't, I've heard people say he was a fascist! But I don't think he really was, do you?
  2. No! I've unfortunately never heard the letters read by Depp! How did you find out about them? I think Josh Harnett is still alive, isn't he? The Rum Diaries is one of my very favorite Thompson books. I can hardly wait for Jan 2009 for Hunter's last book, "Missives From The Mountainside" to come out! I'm glad you understand Hunter- many don't - they just see him as a drunken bum. But he was a GENIUS!
  3. Yes, have you ever heard Depp reading out letters he got from Thompson? They're very funny! Do you know anything about the Rum Diaries film? Josh Hartnett was supposed to be in it, but then he died... is it going ahead again? I'm very well, ta! Franzanna called me yesterday! So I'm very happy, but the phone call was rather awkward! Never heard of that place! Never been then?
  4. Also, did I mention that my aunts on my father's side would go to Dublin every year and they'd always want me to come with them- they'd say, "Colleen, the people look like you!" We have roots in a place called Portavogie.
  5. Hello deary! I thought I'd spoken with someone about classical music, hmmm. Anyway, I'd LOVE to see the monument - the rocket his ashes were shot out of! What a way to go! And Johnny Depp gave the money to make that rocket happen, did you know that? Thompson used to call Johnny, "The Colonel". I miss Thompson so much. What a genius! No, I had to leave some of my books away- the movers said they'd be too heavy, which they were, and I grabbed a few of my important books but there are still some I wish I had. I hate moving, ugh! How are you today?
  6. Oh, you could be right! I'm not entirely sure, so you're probably right! So, how did moving the books go? We didn't, no! Why do you ask?
  7. Yep, it is Irish. I thought Thompson killed himself when he was 67 but I could be wrong. What a waste. Can you imagine how much fun he'd be having with the political debates and all of that? I'm going to get ready to go and get those books but I'll be back! Didn't we discuss Bach?
  8. Sounds Irish, that name! I'd love to see his monument-the one he got shot out of! I still have the newspaper clipping from when that happened-it was up on the parlour wall! I do love that! He's one of them most quotable of people in the world, along with Morrissey!
  9. I'm a taurus, just a day or two before Gemini!
  10. Oh, how lovely! Seeing old people happy is nicer than seeing young people happy-must be very hard to be happy when one is old! That's nice that he has someone again! Oh, yes, solace is good sometimes.

    Do you know Gene Vincent?
