I've uploaded more videos of the concert here: http://www.youtube.com/noirkitsch

As for the front crowd - Some of us were exhausted on top of the hour long wait (I was first in the queue 10 hours prior.. noon sun + humidity and all) But mostly it was so packed shoulder to shoulder at the barrier we couldn't even breathe or move. Just a lot a passionate sing-a-longs, cheers and holding on to dear life from being crushed. Some fans have expressed disappointment at the setlist but you have to realise that last night wasn't a Smiths Greatest Hits tour. I'm just happy to see him live.

I got his shirt by the way =) Mozzer smells of sandalwood, unicorns and pure.. genius.

When he performed in Germany, I waited from noon till the doors open. The weather there was horribily chilling and getting colder towards the evening. Anyway, its worth the queue and managed to shook the man's hand.

Btw, what shirt did you manage to snatch? D&G, YSL, etc? I thought he was going to throw another shirt which he usually does in other venues outside Asia.

Was wondering is he still using CDG Avigon? Did you smell me nearby?

      Cheers!

anyhow, he did say that usually at the end of the song there is applause. and indeed there was silence. embarrassing but it was still a blast to be within 10m of him. still swooning..
Haha, yeah I'm the one. I waved at him at the first song, he stopped in his tracks and stared at it rather intently for a second or two, I froze and decided I have to get that piece of paper to him that night no matter what. I'm so glad he did accepted it in the end. =D Surreal, epic and priceless moment to take to my grave!

Man, what a night it was! Enjoyed thoroughly, seeing this mythical figure in the flesh is just sheer unbelievable.

      Thank you so much, Morrissey!

Many were too lazy to clap, cheer, scream. At the end of one song Moz said something along the lines of "this is the end of the song.. usually there is applause..." i could sense his disappointment at the poor response and turnout (less than 2,000? i estimate). yet he was still utmost professional, giving his best on vocals. I am singaporean and am grateful that great acts like Morrissey are being brought in, but sometimes I feel like we don't deserve to have them come. Our audiences are utterly clueless..
You may be "half correct" about lack of applause n what not...one thing for sure..it was either we were already exhausted enough standing still.. waiting for almost 3 hours prior to the show with the extreme heat.. i, myself pulled my energy to the max when HE entered n sang that HOW SOON IS NOW to the chaotic front..other than that..this i assume as a psychological factor i.e. we "the first timers" were impressed almost disbelieved that HE was in front of us (like surreal) so we ended up feeling amazed, speechless just to enjoy watching him dancing, wailing, moving. And i also observed that almost all fans were busy recording the show, of course if you move around, the quality won't be good...

i'm not sure about you, but us who were in front didn't mind touching, bumping into each other err..i mean like shoulders n what not

Whoever we were last evening, i do believe that we are all the children of MOZ...and i do believe "HE KNOWS..HE KNOWS..HE KNOWS...I'd (We'd) LOVE to see HIM" despite you said..that we were worst.

There was a manic tug war for his shirt so the security guys cut it into a few pieces.. no tag on mine. Some of the other guys who managed to were joking about it being some cheap Uniqlo (can't verify)

I have no idea how CDG Avigon smells like but from the description it highly is.. smoky/calming/incense-like. I'm sorry I couldn't smell you.. all of us smelled like a fish market

NOIRKITSCH..fear not that was a great crowd, morrissey understands that your nature is polite, and as you said it was roasting out there, i have been to many many concerts and that was up there, just because some want to bounce up and down for hours and it didn t happen for them they give it a bad review, but believe me it was just the opposite.. did you catch the part where he sang oscar was the leader of the gang or like thousands just miss it..regards..manc

Haha. Btw CDG Avigon smells of incense from a Catholic Church. It's a strong scent.

You are right, soaking under the humid weather and dancing through the night, we all smell the same. Now we know why he changed the blue shirt to a lighter blue shirt (probably cheaper.). Can you imagine him throwing every designer shirts in every concerts?

      Cheers!

Here's the full review from the Singapore English-language daily, The Straits Times (from http://abcdetc.tumblr.com/post/22770...singapore-from )

And the same, closer up: here.

No mention of Oliver (sic) Wilde, as seen in another Singapore English-language daily's review.

I did record How Soon Is Now / Fatty / First Of The Gang but they're marred by shakiness as the crowd surged forward and my extremely bad singing as evident here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ofad7IBix5w *stabs self* Aahh well. Will re-upload/upload more videos once I've re-sync audio from other youtubers.

You are welcome. I've seen a photo of the setlist too should anyone want one of those.

in the meantime: other 'Singapore your life' (hoho) Moz miscellany includes: this sketch
and this matter of opinion (the story is old... but it goes on)
      and this discussion
Not sure which is the daftest. All as bad as each other perhaps.
