You know...this gets me thinking. Why is Moz such a jerk? He treats former band mates like garbage - unless he can use them. He treats fans poorly - little to no appreciation (oh except for his rediculous notes on TTY), the industry that feeds him has had its hand bit so many times...former idols trashed - Bowie comes to mind.
This is a man in need of help...he gets it via his music, but really if he was the guy who sat in the cube next to you - you would cringe and avoid him. I wish that he had hung up the gloves after Vauxhall. Then reformed the smiths for 1 or 2 records. But you know what, more then that, I am just glad I did not spend a penny on his last 2 records. Utter garbage.

You misunderstood me: I was saying that Morrissey isn't one of the, "greatest recording artists ever." Aside from that, it should suffice to say that Morrissey (and Marr) treated Rourke, Joyce and Gannon very poorly. At least Marr coughed-up in the end. Morrissey, on the other hand, is a tool.

Because the greatest recording artists ever are/were far better than Morrissey at doing the songs. They have done better songs and aren't dicks.

Sorry Anonymous, I don't want to start a slanging match. You are perfectly entitled to your opinion but all you have done is restated it. That's fine. I think he's a great artist.

C'mon, Morrissey isn't even one of the greatest pop-stars (let alone, 'artists') ever. He can't even draw.

"But I think we realised it was gilding the lily a bit"...LMAO! Is that an English expression or just something he said. Funny as hell.

Wow that must be a difficult job. Mike's manager!!! Considering his only "job" is living off The Smith's legacy. He hasn't worked a real job since, excluding some random DJ-ing and isolated fill-in at some weddings and debutante balls.
Might as well be the manager of a corpse.

And won. And that's the point. He proved his claim to a standard high enough to convince a court. I don't know Mike Joyce, but I do know I'd sue if I thought I was owed that significant sum too, and so would you. I think I am right in saying he is still owed money by one of the litigants. Who would like to hazard a guess at which one? Answers on a postcard to...
Time to get your head out if the party sized crisp packet and realise that Morrissey has repaid the sticky fingered Big Ears what was deemed. Years ago.

      I thank you.

Yes, both Joyce and Rourke really kicked on after those days.
Proves without a doubt they were the talented players.

Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman haven't enjoyed great music careers outside the Stones (Wyman having left many years back) and yet were intrinsic to the success of the band, and Marr's career has hardly been a glittering success story since August 1987 either, has he?

Morrissey stole his money how, exactly? Was there ever a written contract during the life of the band stating Joyce was supposed to get more than 10%? Whoops! Joyce saw an opportunity and decided to exploit it, then has the nerve to wonder what Morrissey's problem is

Funny, because when it comes to songwriting credits, you can count the number of songs Joyce helped pen with one hand, and plenty of fingers left over when you're done

If this was your brother/ mother or you...you would take the jerk to court. I still swing by here once and a while...but I realize that Morrissey basically died after Vauxhall. And now he is a silly goof with bad hair dancing around to b grade songs that you all hold up as icons of art.
...which is nothing compared to what Joyce and Rourke are doing for a living these days: living off the scraps of something they contributed to a quarter-century ago, unable to move on from the past and at the same time hoping it's in their near future again.

I'll take the silly goof with the bad hair dancing to b-grade songs any day of the week, thank you

I know everyone hates Marr, but he is a bonafide guitar hero. And given his age he is doing what I would do: guest appearances, writing great songs like Dashboard by MM, remastering the smiths and basically living a dignified life. Morrissey on the other hand is a lost soul thinking he is a super star when in reality he is a lounge act.
1.) Nobody hates Marr, but thank you for attempting to speak for all of us because I'm sure you know us better than we know ourselves

2.) Marr didn't write Dashboard, you fucking dunce. He helped write it. Get your facts straight

3.) Marr is in the same boat as Joyce and Rourke when it comes to a legacy. It's always printed as "the former Smiths guitarist". When have you ever seen him listed as "one of the masterminds of 90's superstars Electronic" or as a guitarist for Modest Mouse/The Cribs? Don't hen-peck Morrissey when it's clear he;s doing much more and much better than the other three could ever hope to

But then again...when i was a smiths fan - like all of you now, i had low self esteem. Good luck to you losers. Soon you will be able to see Morrissey play at the local In/ Out burger - IN UNIFORM!! At the drive through window with Jesse (aka cheap guitarist) singing through the microphone!!!!
Uh, no...we don't know. Probably because we have no idea who the fuck you are, seeing as you blend right in with the rest of the faceless anonymous twats who are too chickenshit to log in when slandering

but just to emphasize your cutting-edge wit, I'm sure an In/Out burger would be the FIRST place Morrissey would gig. Seeing as he's, you know, a vegetarian and all? You're probably the shift manager at said restaurant, listening to Morrissey while you clean toilets there or whatever it is you do
