he was in fine fine voice tonight - the band was outstanding. the jam at the end of the meat is murder with the film of animal cruility was chilling and amazing both at once.

some nice stage invasions during the encore. damn police spoiled some fun.

Morrissey very chatty. Introduced band with "if you had a very large bowl and spoon, you could scoop up... Boz boorer (to which Boz gave a very arch facial gesture), solomon walker, matt walker, etc etc. Made reference to America's design on bombing Iran and the apparent pointlessness of American Presidents before opening into "People are the same everywhere." Changed lots of lyrics - Meat is Murder had "Eat! Kill! Eat! Kill! Murder!" and "Open your fat mouth!" With reference to the postponed show, he said "Where have you been? I've been waiting here for 6 weeks for you!" Gave glowing description of Lou Reed before Satellite of Love, something about being "unlike presidents, a real American worth celebrating" and ended with "If you don't know who wrote that song, you should go home." Also, before There is a Light, said "I feel very compelled to tell you something."

About fifteen stage invasions, madness as a tide of people rushed behind us and Morrissey was bundled up off stage by security not to return during Still Ill. One lucky fellow got on stage and hugged Morrissey, before appropriately putting his hands up in the air as he stepped off. Saw loads of people fly over the railing legs in the air never to return. Police were on hand as security, and one officer looked like he was about to crap his pants when the stage invasions began. He breathed a sigh of relief at the end of the show. Loads of flowers flung at Morrissey, one which either did or almost grazed his head. He gave a kind of awkward look tinged with menace and for a second I thought he'd walk off like that show all those years ago. I also thought I saw a shoe fly in the direction of the stage. Really excellent show, top form, and the band was great to all the detractors.

He was the greatest, most precious, most beautiful, most talented thing I'd ever seen. He just melted me. I swear. Just stay as you are Moz. The world really needs you. *penis envy*

I've seen Morrissey every time he's been anywhere near Chicago throughout the Aughts. He and the band were in top form tonight. I haven't experienced Meat is Murder in a long time and it was shocking and horrifying. My lady informed me that a lot of people were averting their eyes and attention. Smiths songs were brilliant, Morrissey songs were lacking only in I wish there were a few more(NEW ALBUM). Cover was great but will I ever hear Cosmic Dancer live?Best show I've seen in years.leather elbows

Curious if anyone knows more specifically what he had to say about "the pointlessness of American presidents" (to roughly quote someone from above)?

How about the songs / videos he used as his interval tapes?

These are some of the ones I remember...

Velvet Underground - I'll Be Your Mirror (Song)
Patti Smith - ??? (Song)
Sparks - ??? (Video)
Nico - ??? (Video)
New York Dolls - Lookin For A Kiss (Video)

Post any of the other songs you heard or videos you saw (I didn't know what the rest was)

One of the best Morrissey shows I've ever been to me & my Wife are from L.A. And we thought that the people from chicago were so much more into the show than the fans in L.A!
