Russell Brand informs us of the Queen's German roots, noting her family's last name was Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. King George V changed the family name to Windsor during World War I. It's worth noting the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha name is linked to the Rothschild family , who are allegedly the richest family on planet earth.

Genius, no. Twat, probably. However he is right on this occasion and puts his points across in an eloquent and humorous fashion. Unlike the clumsy diatribes we've come to expect from the Moz in recent times.

Very funny and spot on. I've not really watched him much before.

"THANKS FOR THE FLOWERS!"

Russell Brand is a dick. A 100% dick. An over-hyped, pompous, self-righteous, tedious, attention-seeking windbag. I wouldn't normally write such things but I feel as though I have been provoked by this pitious post. I detest any form of royalty/elitism
(including millionaire blow-hards) taking a pious stance on our behalf as he markets his own 'brand'. f*** off! You aren't funny. You're not satirical. You're not intelligent. You are 100% plastic. A fake. He lives a life of elitism (like someone else I could mention here) and decries it for others. The dictionary definition of 'media whore' should read Russell Brand. Have I mentioned that Russell Brand is a 100% dick? I will now go and spank myself with a wet plimsoll.

So an elitist prick (I'm no fan of Brand) is unable to tell it like it actually is according to the above poster.

You may not like the messenger but the message is completely accurate. It's fking ridiculous in the 21st Century we prop up this anachronistic bloodline entitlement.

Couldn't agree more with Russell Brand. I really like the guy, but even if you don't, surely you see the validity in his message? He talks sense.

Completely agree BB's. Russell wasn't born into a life of unimaginable wealth and privilege, he made his own way in life. Can we really say the same of the multi-millionaire royals? Hardly.

So Morrissey has finally caught up with some old episodes of 'The Trews'
f***s sake, even Russel Brand has moved on from that....
It's all very last month, Brand just stating the obvious in a series of daft voices ripped off from Monty Python...
I'm in Napoli it's hot and I'm tired.
And an old Keith Allen, Lady Di documentary clip isn't going to wake me up either.
However, I'd still be yawning at this TTY bore post if I was wired on cheap amphetamines back in chilly old Manchester.
Poor effort!
NEXT!!

I understand how the pomp surrounding the British royalty looks faintly ridiculous in current times, however don't most people see it as just a glorified tourist attraction?

Saying you could spend the money on x and y instead is all very well, but the same argument is made for every single non-essential piece of expenditure (especially anything to do with arts/culture).

There's an expense there, but I'm not at all convinced it's as outrageous as it's made out to be - how much of the money is going to staff wages/property upkeep as opposed to being hoarded away somewhere?

How about wealthy non-residents using the London property market as a giant money-laundering facility, driving up prices? This is something that would actually benefit people if addressed.

The royalty, like McDonald's - the easy, obvious target which entirely misses the point (McDonald's meat trade only exists due to customer demand - in India McD's is primarily vegetarian, and even has some all-vegetarian branches).

Ahh, the same Mr Brand who performed at the Royal Variety Performance in 2007. Hypocrite.

the difference between a tourist attraction and them is that a tourist attraction doesnt take millions of tax money that they spend on there own lives pleasures and outside business earnings. they take money from average people as well as the poor to fund there own profit margins experiences and education which also leads to more profit

I always thought this idiot was from New Jersey doing a fake Brit accent for movies. . Didn't know he was a Brit. I guess I like him now because he hates "the royals". Is he in the Blue Rose Society too? Anonymous-
