TTY: Morrissey and Australia - on Australian government killing of 2 million street/feral cats

Morrissey is aware that the Australian government has decided to kill 2 million street/feral cats. Morrissey has commented:

"We all know that the idiots rule the Earth, but this is taking idiocy just too far. The cats (who keep the rodent population under control) will be killed in a ferocious manner, using Compound 10/80, which is a gut-wrenching poison of the most unimaginable and lengthy horror. The people of Australia would never agree to this - but of course they will not be consulted, because the Australian government as ruled by Tony Abbott is essentially a committee of sheep-farmers who have zero concerns about animal welfare or animal respect. The cats are, in fact, 2 million smaller versions of Cecil The Lion. All I can say is ... come, come, nuclear bomb ... "

So it's ok to keep the rodents under control is it ?
The rodents are the end of the line as far as Silly Steven is concerend. If your born a cat , cool but if your born a rodent tough shit just eat your poison and die.

The picture of Morrissey's cat reminds me of the photo used on the cover of his Autobiography.

First I read Moz's article and felt the urge to tear my hair out, then I looked at his cat and knew that somewhere there are creatures that can soothe me. I love cats more than I love music.

I wonder if he thought that last comment through: 'come, come, nuclear bomb' - I think he's misquoting (dreary English poet) John Betjeman. Once IS get hold of one, it'll come soon enough. And it MIGHT affect Mozzer. And the puddy tats.

I didn't know he had a tour cat and what is he doing in Pasadena?

Speaking of sheep farmers, grazing and government, in the past, Australia took care of its feral horse (brumby) population by shooting with rifles entire herds of horses. Of course these marksmen were up in helicopters and never had to get close to witness the absolute terror and misery on the ground created by their hands.
I will never understand....

They've been doing this with the fluoroacetate for many, many years on many, many species. Just because cats can be pets, and he has one, doesn't make it any more of a special case.

Even if this country where that alligator guy was from didn't kill cats, he won't be going back there again. It took him 15 years last time. I guess Men at Work are pretty good.

Pasadena? Are him and Nancy looking for a modest classic American home now to just fade in to the sunset instead of a Beverly Hills mansion? Anonymous-

So, do we make any distinction between him calling "Come come nuclear bomb" in the context of a song and him calling for it amidst his ham-handed, serious-faced political commentary?

Without the context of a song/poem, he basically called for the mass murder of millions of people for the crime of controlling an invasive animal population. Does anybody take this stupid f***er seriously anymore?

David, it's time to stop presenting these stories without commentary. The headline should correctly read "Morrissey releases a statement calling for the murder of millions of Australians," and NOT simply be a stenographer for the excrement he releases on TTY.

And, just because it has been done for many years on many different species makes it right and justified? How?
Has not the time come? If not now, then when?
I know you are merely provoking here, but can't we try, for a change?

Guys, the suggestion about nuking Australia might, just might, have been an example of IRONY.

are we feeling a touch angry there? geez.

Not angry, sorry I thought I was being a bit funny. I think cats are ok but I love comedies where obviously fake cats get thrown down a stairs or off a bridge, like something from Sledgehammer or Police Squad. The idea of someone being transported into the body of Moz's cat only to be kicked up the arse seemed funny to me. Okay I'm rambling and will stop now.

Jayzus... He isn't calling for the nuking of Australia.

I read that statement as "When human kind is pointlessly savage and cruel, perhaps the world would be better off without human kind."
I've always interpreted that lyric in that way.

Ah!, at last, we have a correct answer. Thank God there's someone with intelligence here.
