Noel Gallagher on Desert Island Discs chooses 'Hand in Glove' (19 July 2015)

Re: Noel Gallagher on Desert Island Discs right now

I may have got one or two of these words wrong, but the essence is there...

Kirsty: "Do you get on with Morrissey?"

Noel: "He's brilliant. The last time I was out with him in L.A, my jaw was sore from laughing. Mainly because he was bullying Russell Brand. Anyway, this is Hand In Glove, the best song ever written."

That story is getting a bit lame. Aren't there any other famous people he can talk about?

Noel Gallagher was on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs this morning and chose 'Hand in Glove' by The Smiths as one of his 8 songs and calls it 'one of the greatest songs ever written'. Talked a bit again about meeting Moz and Russell Brand.

Great selection of tunes overall by Gallagher, the entire episode is well worth a listen. Includes Sex Pistols, Bowie, Beatles, U2; the kind of stuff you'd expect.

Check it out on: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b062hplj#auto .. Stuff about The Smiths begins at 18:36

The programme trailer features Hand In Glove which gives out one of Noel's choices. :)

Man, you're not kidding. I feel like this story has been through five different generations of appearing to be new info. Nope - Noel, Moz, Brand. Same story. I think you have to blame the interviewers. It's the same thing as the ones that used to ask these guys about a reunion every single time. Do your homework and move on!

nothing by the frantic flintstones? half man half biscuit? or the wedding present? predictable stuff from boring old noel, wouldn't want to be trapped on a desert island with that dullard

Tell me about it if Noel and i were stuck on a desert island i would have resorted to cannibalism even if there was fruit there, i would have just wanted him gone. He never shuts up about this story, talk about sycophantic slag. Even Russell brand, that attention wh*re never went on like this about meeting moz.

If I ever meet Noel u will ask him if he is stuck in a Groundhog Day-like scenario with this story.

And his song choices, I mean they're great but Jesus so damn obvious. He is like that dude who demands only the hits in concert or he will leave. I'm surprised if he knows that moz isn't in the smiths anymore

But when all is said and done............. Noel does have talent (hangs head in shame). I listened to the lyrics of oasis carefully

I always called Bull Ox on this story. There's no way Morrissey would be in all places LA!!!..... except to play a gig and Noel would never be seen at a trendy Italian restaurant in West Hollywood with Morrissey because Noel would order the meat sauce for his pasta!!! At least Liam doesn't have Morrissey fantasies. Anonymous-

It was a direct answer to a specific question. What do you expect him to say?
