Re: TTY- Reader Meet Author : Sydney, Australia book-signing
I predict a riot

Do you guys, think i will be another dud , like the new york booksigning
I predict a riot
Although i'am happy for the Sydney fans, i can't help to feel a bit sad about this signing. I wanted the gothenburg signing to be single and special event
......As an "original of the species" I get that Morrissey doesn't play the game but if he has any real faith or belief in his music then he has to understand that signing sessions, bundles, television appearances, interviews and the rest are all part of the deal today.
......Just imagine the uptake for that sort of offering if Morrissey did it...a signing session in the afternoon, an interview in the local press that day, a live recording to purchase on the night and maybe some sort of limited edition vinyl/CD for sale only at the show.
Morrissey is too lazy to do all of this. Period. As he has shown time and time again.
I'm not saying you don't make some valid points, but this has never been the way Morrissey operates. This is a guy whose audience feel a sense of relief whenever the lights go down and he actually manages to walk out on stage and sing for 80 minutes.
I saw the Divine Comedy at Somerset House a few years back and for twenty English pounds I was able to pick up a live recording of the show at the end of the night...two discs with a third which included the encore delivered a week later.

That is so sad isn't it? He wants to be heard, he wants to be lauded and applauded but he doesn't understand that the world has moved on and he cannot have what he wants on his terms. I don't think it's actually his fault...I think he is surrounded by people who only say "yes" (which may actually be his fault!) like Boorer who sees his position with Morrissey as a job in the same was as I see mine...he doesn't, I suspect, criticise or offer real guidance, he just turns up, does what he is told and then goes home. Fair play, he will have more money in the bank than me, but I would want more if I was a creative.
