he's right,

most people here are a bunch of angry kids sitting in their mother's basement

Awww...this makes me sad. Regardless of what Morrissey thinks I'd hate it if this site didn't exist or closed down. Where else can you get an update within 30 minutes of Morrissey finishing a gig? Or find a reasonabley priced ticket to a to sold out venues via other fans? Or know when there is a radio/magazine interview? For me it keeps the momentum going. I know Morrissey likes to use True To You to issue statements etc...but, if I go there more often than not there is nothing happening/updated. I would like to think that most people that come here do so for the same reasons as me and we are mostly silent readers who don't give a second look or thought to negative or silly posts. I think David creating Morrissey-Solo and keeping the wheels turning for all these years is in its simplest form a true labour of love. Please keep the momemtum going...

Hmmm...I don't think he (and those he surrounds himself with) understand that this forum is a fan-site in the sense that it is a place devoted to discussion ABOUT him and his music, not a site devoted to the adoration of him as a person. Essentially, he's not the subject of this site, but rather the object.

Or, he does...which is why he just gave you all free publicity to the many people who have never heard about the site before. Just like he did with that satire site he announced not having any affiliation with.
{ http://morrisseysworld.blogspot.com/ }

Either way, expect more site traffic.

I don't care about what Morrissey thinks regarding this subject. I always come here, always will, and if he thinks the music world is horrible; without Morrissey Solo for him would be even worse. This makes the interest go round and if not for Morrissey Solo where can we get updates? Certainly not at True To You. Not in the way we love. So I couldn't care less about his opinion on this site. And the proof about this site being a good place, with no iranianan censorship is THAT article with PHOTO. Go on Morrissey Solo!!!:thumb:

I love the music of Moz. I don't really come on this site but like the person above said it is a labor of love and although you will recieve more traffic to the site, I'm not a fan of how he handled that. I'd feel awful if that was done to me after being devoted to informing fans on all things Moz.

I'm SOOOO glad he did it - this site has SUCKED since the change and for quite a bit before that ~ same morons over and Over "The Orange Head" idiot with 3 posts a day, EVERY day!! "Celibate" w` his long ponderous post's(sorry, u do make a point once in a while, but long and ponderous comes to mind half way through 9 out of your 3000 posts ),Mexicans who say nasty things about white's and our country along w` the other host of pussy's who post Anonymous ,and johnny marr fans~ go to his site, f*** you and -f*** morrissey-solo.com

Tres amusant! s'funny that he would suddenly stage a hissy fit about this site, this discordant den of vipers that is his 'online dysfunctional family':

Perhaps a poll to decide what story on this site prompted this vehement protest? I'm sure the 'cover version' heresy of Mike Joyce is the reason, but I could be wrong.......(chortle)

The power-chord version of 'This Charming Man' is.....ok. Once the novelty of hearing it played live again has worn off, Mike Joyce is right: it's just a karaoke sing-a-long 'cover version'. Still, I'm sure the hissy fit t-shirt spiced it up....a bit.

Wayne Clooney

Hmmm. I am fairly new to the site, but the nastiest comments I ever read here are from anonymous people commenting on the main page.

Go figure.

I've been coming to this site since 1997. Do I agree with everything posted on the site, no, but I will say that this site carried Morrissey through the lean years between Maladjusted and YATQ...it is pretty much the only thing that kept Morrissey fans connected, informed and passionate.
I don't care what he or anyone else says, I do believe this site has and always will be part of the reason Morrissey is still relevant.
Where do we find out about songs? Here
Where do we find out about tours? Here
Where do we find out about gossip good and bad? Here

Not a f***ing chance in hell would he been able to carry on at the rate he has without this site. I guarantee you this site has more hits than any other site associated with Moz. Are people here to talk shit sure. Got to any site with a forum, and people will be talking shit on anything from haircuts to reptile care...this is just another site that just happens to be abut something we love.

David, I might like everything that is posted on here, but I am man enough to say carry on and thank you for everything!

xoxo
long time fan of yours.

p.s.I don't like Mike Joyce much, but he is dead on, that version of TCM is pretty bad
p.p.s.I love the new songs btw

It's unfair that he can wear a shirt like this and not allow fans to drink out of bottles at his shows.

He's still bitter that David wouldn't back down when he tried to tell him what the could post and what not to.

He loves celebrities more than his fans. We get it: you met Lady Gaga

What happened to the shirts from Old Navy anyway?

I totally agree with what others have said--this site was the only place to talk about and get updates on Morrissey for many years (and it's still pretty much true even today), and if it weren't for this site, he might've been playing the karaoke room at El Torito in 1999 and 2000, especially. I applaud David for keeping this site going for THE FANS, despite Morrissey's regrettable public disdain for it. Yes, there are annoying people on here, but that's just the Internet. I challenge you to find a single site on the Web that's not heavily censored and that doesn't have the same infestation of low-lifes. True-to-You is nothing more than a sycophantic suck-up fest. I come to Morrissey-solo to get the news and read others' opinions, whether I agree with them or not. Seeing Morrissey wearing this shirt depresses me, quite honestly. I feel that by wearing it, he has insulted many of us who have come to this site over the years only because we love him.

He's probably referring to the endless negativity we see written about him by 'fans' of these pages which is horrendous and totally unjustified.

I don't know how I feel about this....I don't think I feel anything. At least he didn't sport a shirt that said, "f*** Dani." I might take it to heart then.

If only the content of Morrissey-solo.com could reflect how lovely David's original fanzine Sing Your Life was, with the great photos and appreciative fan articles. It was truly a fun read. morrissey-solo, being on the internet, gives the added advantage of all the tour info being conveniently posted so fans can properly plan to see the shows in real time. It's a remarkable tool and David T is really thoughtful for doing that.

There's nothing and no one telling him to maintain any of this, so people who've irresponsibly ranted and been just simply insulting when you really have personal issues that should reside elsewhere... you do us who remember the good days of Sing Your Life and the earlier morrissey-solo days injustice and have harmed the reputation of the years of good work put into this site. Just my observation, but this seems to be not appreciated by fans, Moz and probably least of all DavidT. If you have a qualm with any of the three (inclusive of the band), this site is really not the appropriate place (for those who constructively back up your critiques and don't get personal about it, this is not addressed to you). People who truly don't like M's music and are not fans don't even bother coming to this site. They don't even know about it. Just an observation.

Cheers,
romeogirl
