Re: Morrissey - rumored headliner at Firefly Festival in Delaware

Yep I posted this in the tour forum last night.

If it's true, then a US tour would be likely as he wouldn't come here for one festival date.

Fingers crossed.

Re: Morrissey - rumored headliner at Firefly Festival in Delaware

oh sorry about that..guess my post will be Kewpied any time now :lbf:

Re: Morrissey - rumored headliner at Firefly Festival in Delaware

No worries. There was a fake leaked last year so we just have to wait and see!

If so, the flights to Delaware are cheap for me so it would work.

Re: Morrissey - rumored headliner at Firefly Festival in Delaware

The official line-up will be announced this week, so we don't have long to go in anticipation of this.

I wonder if my hatred of festivals could outweigh Moz, McCartney, Mouse, Cold War Kids, Spoon and Kid Cudi? The answer is yes. :D (That looks like an amazing festival for those who can take spending hours in close proximity with drugged-out entitled rich douchebags.)

CG, my anxiety levels over this are through the roof. I'm from Delaware and all my problems stayed in that state while I eloped to PA. They also allllllll go to that festival. That means I'll have to face a personal hell...which...I've decided to do should this poster be true. There may be blood spilled though. I would do this to see him.

Hate them, won't go. I can barely do the floor of big venues unless I'm near a door or can see a door and I know festivals are outside, but I hate them. I've only been to one, the first Lollapalooza when there was only one stage and no food vendors and sensory exploration exhibits and all that stuff, but it fused the nightmare of hours upon hours upon hours of zombies drugged out and nonstop music, it's too much. I can barely see two movies in a day, to see 8 hours of solid music is horrible.

Ugh. Hell! But...this Eurydice will venture there for her Orpheus if it goes down. ;)

Buuuuuut...I'd much rather he skip the flat, boring farmland, redneck music festival in favor of a more dignified Philadelphia venue. *fingers crossed*

UPDATE Mar. 18:

Eurydice posted:

Morrissey is set to play on Friday (the same day as Paul McCartney).

An anonymous person writes:

There's a lineup poster of the Firefly Festival that lists Morrissey, Paul Mccartney and snoop dogg

Wonder if it's real.

Modrevolve posted the link:

Spoon, Run the Jewels headed to Firefly; line-up leaked? - Delaware Online

Excerpt:

But by Friday night, a purported Firefy line-up was posted on Twitter by @EDMsecrets and was soon shared online by fans eagerly awaiting the list of acts that will perform June 18-21 in Dover.

The first bands have been announced for the festival
Elliphant Run The Jewels Spoon Empire of the Sun and.... Bastille

If he is actually on the bill, that would prolly mean East Coast dates in June which would be great (provided they don't conflict with my Ride and Belle and Sebastien shows).

First time I ever heard of The Killers, they were opening for Moz right before my eyes. Now it's 11 years on and they are billed above him.What's-his-face and Morrissey should sing "Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself" together.

Strange that The Killers would rank higher than Moz. Their last few albums were complete mush and I won't even talk about Brandon Flowers's solo album.
There are not that many artists on the list that I'd like to see. Obviously Morrissey would be number one.

I had seen The Killers at a bar (The Khyber) before they broke. I decided to pass on night two of Morrissey at the Tower in 2004 to see them a second time at the TLA that night and have regretted it ever since.

BTW..For anyone who actually wants to go to Firefly, individual tickets don't usually go on sale till closer to the event. They usually start out by just selling weekend passes.

I have a relative who works the venue every year. I guess I'll see if she can get us passes or something. I'd honestly go to see Moz and then leave right after he plays. The more I think about it, the more I think I would have of a chance to get near to the stage (or possibly getting a piece of his shirt) since I imagine not many people being that into him down that ("Slower, Lower Delaware") way. At my high school in Wilmington, no one even knew of The Smiths. It was all rap or U2 fans in the halls.

My Highschool (McKean) had a lot of 120 minutes/Alt Nation fans when I graduated in 1994, so Moz was a big deal amongst many of us as was The Cure, Depeche etc.

Hold on to the hate. Festivals are vile. Not worth it dude ...:squiffy:

Noooo, they sit there all day watching all the acts not budging, but 40 rows deep not budging, pissing into water bottles.
