Very interesting. There are some pretty serious omissions: no Charlotte Brontë? No Spalding Gray? Spalding was the most dynamic raconteur I've ever heard. He would quietly take his seat at the table and just start talking. Everyone in the theatre would be on the edge of their seats for hours. At the end there would be astonishment and (often) tears.

Anyway, Morrissey certainly belongs on this list: he's as cinematic a singer as there's ever been (although Nick Cave and Marc Almond are no slouches).
 
Kevin Spacey? Well, if being one of the "word's greatest storytellers" means Spacey's ability to come up with almost-believable denials about his penchant for twinks, then yeah, he's one of the best.

Wonderful novelists have been around for time immemorial.
Each individual will have his/her favourite author/favourite book.
We would be here until kingdom come,if we were to list all the literary greats.
Although bob dylan was a bona fide storyteller,what makes morrissey unique is how he makes the listener feel.
The story or emotions feel specific to you.
With the music and unique descriptive language he uses,morrissey is one on his own.
A special man,with a master plan !!!!!!!

Guessing that Bummie, Benny and Barleycunt will dismiss the 500 authors, journalists, editors, students, and media and marketing professionals surveyed as arselickers and sycophants because of their pro-Morrissey opinions...
