David Mitchell's "The Bone Clocks" references "The Queen Is Dead" poster

The opening chapter of David Mitchell's new novel, "The Bone Clocks" is set on 30 June 1984. A Queen Is Dead Poster is described in a bedroom setting. Pity Mitchell stuffed that up as The Queen Is Dead wasn't released until 1986.

I'm really tempted to email/tweet the author to tell him of his error, but then again I'd probably come across as a right wanker!

Tell him the film version of Cloud Atlas was a load of crap too while you are at it!

I much prefer David Mitchell from Peep Show.

/\ /\ yes yes and what was the other show they did as well, cant remember now. this isnt really my kind of fiction

David Mitchell is a serial offender for this sort of thing.

He uses phrases and slang in another book of his; Black Swan Green (also set in the 80's); which as a teenager in that decade; I know for a fact weren't used then!

Of course it's just fiction, but it's irritating!
