The Not So Charming Man; Tanya Sweeney, the Irish Independent

"Where did it all go wrong for this not-so-charming [millionaire]?"

Like the Smiths song, 'This Charming Man'. But it's turned on its head, to become 'This Not-So-Charming Man'. But I've modified that by replacing 'Man' with 'millionaire' (the modification indicated by my square brackets). You see? You see what I've done there, to what Tanya did? You see what Tanya did with the Smiths song title? Do you get it?

Reminds me of the joke about the hotel room cleaner who goes into a room to find George Best in bed with a naked supermodel on either side of him, bottles of champagne and £100 notes strewn all over the bed; cleaner shakes his head and says "George, George! Where did it all go wrong?"

Taking pisspoor journalistic clichés to new medians of banality. What is about journalism that it attracts and rewards mediocrity?

It's not the criticism of Morrissey I object to, it's the lazy hack writing, for which she was paid. The pandering to the general public's need to be reassured in their own lazy prejudices.

i dont know. the part about them each others nemesis is just wrong but i didnt find the rest to out of line with what many said on the release of world peace. it did seem to echo what many have already said here. especially rereading. ill tell you its sometimes insightful to go back and read what was actually said as i think that just goes right out of a lot of peoples head two seconds after they say it

What a bunch of old guff.

This is an honest question, if anyone cares to answer - why do you think the UK media is so preoccupied with circulating ugly opinion pieces about Morrissey? The man cuts his own throat more skillfully than any journalist. Are these highlight reels of his many gaffes and f***-ups really all that salable or newsworthy?

His main collaborator over the last two decades was mistakenly called Boz in this article. Fact checkers: his name is Alain.

'Lazy Journalists of the World, Talk Shite and Take Over' -

Abysmal non-article from a lazy journalist who really should know better, if she knows anything at all.

She says: "So where did it seemingly all go wrong for this not-entirely-charming man?" Her idea of everything going wrong must be a lot different than mine. Moz released one of the best albums of his career and is trailblazing across Europe to adoring audiences. He endures despite the hatred that seeps from every corner of the musical 'establishment'.

The Independent is turning into a rag newspaper with uninformed journalists writing whatever they think will sell, regardless of the lack of integrity of the story. It is insulting to it's readership to assume we need to be force-fed lies and biased opinions in place of fact. Most of her allegations are either false or based on a foundation of chewing gum and spit. It would be laughable were it not for the chance that some grass chewers will eagerly digest the 'story' and deposit in their stomachs for later regurgitation to their social media 'friends'.

yeah it seems like they really want to read it as some sort of failure when it and he are obviously not.

This is total shit. Sorry but what a waste of time reading that rubbish.
