Morrissey interview in Aftonbladet (Swedish)

Re: Swedish Article

It looks like he did not visit friends in Stockholm. From what I understand it was not a nice trip at all according to what he says so it seems he met some specialist about his illness.

The headline is "No, I did not have fun in Stockholm at all".

Here's the teaser—you need a paid account to actually read the interview:

Google translation:

"Many people would be happy if I died"
Big interview: Read the email conversation between Morrissey and Nöjesbladet's Kristin Lundell
Great interview with the singer! Read the email conversation between Morrissey and Nöjesbladet's Kristin Lundell: "No, I was not so nice in Stockholm."

He shocked his fans when he told me last month that he had been treated for cancer. But Morrissey has no plans to throw in the towel yet.
- There are far too many who would be happy if I died, says the former The Smiths frontman to Nöjesbladet.

Morrissey on ...

What's up after cancer treatment
Its not so good stay in Stockholm
Why Sweden is a good thing after all
new novel
To throw out a six year old per night to his audience
Politics
meat
Women ruled the world
... And much more!

Great interview. I share his view on small children.

Switzerland? Sweetzerland?

I agree with him 100% about therapy. Waste of time.

Was he really hounded that much in Sweden? I remember one photo, but if there were photos of him eating pasta we would have seen them online.

If he was, that's shitty, leave the man alone.

Nobody looks elegant eating pasta.

It must suck to be sitting there at a restaurant and to have people snapping photos of you while your chin is covered in tomato sauce or olive oil. Then, you'd have to worry about that sloppy pic ending up on some "frink" thread somewhere. Ha!

Even with the busted up English translation this was entertaining.

On Jesus..."Apparently he was tired of all of us." Made me laugh....I always felt the same way.

His sense of humor and view of the world is thoroughly entertaining. He is a riot. I found myself chuckling away over this article, too.

I would frink to that. Just saying.

Why don't you love me?

"Moreover, the word "extremist" only if people you dislike. You never hear the BBC report that 'royalist extremists stood in line to get to shake hands with the Queen.'"

Gold. :thumb:

I cannot understand why Morrissey plays that old "I cannot avoid my Catholic upbringing" tune. My Dad had no such trouble exorcising those Catholic demons, common sense prevailed. I'm always disappointed when I hear even the slightest tolerance he has for religion. I guess there's always a fly in the ointment.

That was hilarious, I can almost picture him laughing his head off while he was replying. The man can be many things but certainly being boring in interviews is not one of tem.

Love this: "I think that many people suffer from not understanding that one's personality can be several pages long. Not just one."
