Given that they weren't actually called 'The Smiths' at the time why does Si Wolstencroft insist on peddling the 'I was The Smiths original drummer' story?

Because he was closer than you me or you or anyone else (other than Mike Joyce) at being the Smiths drummer, so he has the right.

Probably because he's not expecting anyone to be that petty about it.

at one of the Smiths gigs, there wwas a guest drummer, so 2 drumkits.

Both were playing, was the other one Simon Wolstencroft?

[have it on a VHS tape but no recorder anymore]

I want this book ! Just checked Amazon and it is only out in kindle version in the USA . Agree with you Detritus about a clash with Moz would have soon wrecked Sy . Still as eugenius says closer than any of us ever was . Thank goodness he joined The Fall . Made GREAT music with them and I love The Fall as much as I do Moz !

I played on as many Smiths records as Si did. And my gran played on as many Stone Roses records.

i.e. ZERO

I agree, but I don't think he got along with Morrissey. If he stuck around for a bit longer he would have inevitably been ousted anyway.

I don't kmow if you have live footage, or studio albums of the Smiths, but you must be tone-deaf
if you can't hear that Joyce-Rourke were a Rythm team as much as M&M were lyricist and songwriter.

The Smiths were a perfect balanced band... Legend

Amen

I was suposed to reply on Mozza 220559

Me preferring 1 drummers style to another doesn't make me tone deaf you ballbag.
