Excerpt:

Paris-based sales Memento Films International (MFI) has announced a slew of sales on Joachim Trier’s Louder Than Bombs as the film starts shooting in New York.

Norwegian director Trier’s English-language debut stars Gabriel Byrne as a man coming to terms with death of his war photographer wife, played by Isabelle Huppert, alongside Jesse Eisenberg as one of his sons.

It has pre-sold to Israel (Lev Cinema), Greece (Seven Group), Turkey (Bir Films), Ex-Yugoslavia (Megacom), Hong Kong (Golden Scene), Taiwan (Maison Motion), India (Pictureworks) and the Middle East (Falcon Films).

The film is a Norwegian-French-Danish co-production between Oslo-based Motlys, Memento Films Production and Copenhagen-based Nimbus Film. As previously announced, Svensk Filmindustri holds Norwegian and Danish rights. TriAart will handle theatrical in Sweden.

Joachim Trier is an absolutely talented director, who does some really interesting stuff with synching music with action. In particular everyone should check out the Joy Division opening to Reprise.

And Trier is a big Moz-fan as well. I've interviewed him, and he told me he saw Morrissey in Brixton Academy with Libertines as support in 2002. Nice guy, extremely talented!

... and his closest writing partner Eskil Vogt (who also is his co-writer on "Louder than Bombs) did use the sleeve of Bona Drag in his directing debut "Blind" - lookout for it!

I loved his film "Oslo, August 31st". Quite bleak, but kind of wonderful in it's depiction of life running down.
