Morrissey Hot Press magazine interview out now

An anonymous person writes:

Issue is out just picked it up in Dublin - very good insightful interview; usual topics covered also says Jesse Tobias is one of the modern world's greatest guitarists...no confirmation on O2 date yet. Recent health issue was "acute fever" and needed a heroin based medication to stabilise him!

INSIDE THE NEW HOT PRESS: MORRISSEY - Hot Press. Link posted by Uncleskinny
A world exclusive with the one and only Morrissey, plus Ryan Adams, Rankin, Eli Roth, John Slattery and more...

Excerpt:

Our ridiculously star-studded run of summer issues continues this fortnight. Gracing our cover this issue – and looking extremely cool we must say – is the icon that is Morrissey.
Always a bit wary of the press, the Mancunian star talks exclusively to Hot Press as his new album World Peace Is None Of Your Business kicks Mozzamania into gear.

On the agenda? Global politics, his new album, the Royal Family, Tony Blair, Brendan Behan, Bashar al-Assad and much more, while he opens up about his recent health issues for the first time.

Long time coming...interview at last. Now how about a spot on a few late night credible shows, just like in the not so distant past. Those were the days ...word got out that he & his band would be on that very Friday & you would count down the days just to endure a whole program filled with utter trite, then finally he would be introduced..camera pans over to the band who would then on cue from mozzer strike into his latest chart hit.! So what happened..? Harvest must know the importance of actively getting the word out..contacts at all the major channels, interview after interview, come on Harvest- Mozster,Bozster, anyone in the band, even the mute witness solomon. We all need a bit more input, We need, I need him in my life right now.

A 10 year old photo on the cover? That's odd.

Yes....it doesn't sound right....I know he has been unwell but for a world exclusive....

Cheers Moz

Yeah, I figure he probably isn't looking his best but... I was expecting maybe a one year old picture, not a 10-year-old, overused one? Oh well, maybe there's something new inside? Where are the scans, Person Who Already Has a Copy???

I assume he meant opiate based medicine but I could be wrong. I also thought those were for pain management, not high fevers. Wonder if he's got an issue with migraines.

Is there a place to order a digital copy? I already ordered a hard copy but I want to read it now!

I saw a scan and there was the most recent photo that we've already seen.

Opiates for a fever? That doesn't sound right.

He still didn't need a 10 year old photo though if it's because he is ill, he wouldn't need to go that far back.

BTW it was confirmed on TTY that the Dublin date is going ahead.

If they weren't doing a new shoot (which they may not have wanted to pay for), it wasn't likely Morrissey's choice to use that particular photo. I don't like when magazines license such out of date photos for current articles, but it happens all the time.

Photo aside, I can't wait to check out the whole article...

Isn't the choice of photo the province of the magazine and not really anything to do with Moz?
I thought the record company usually pays for promo shots or the magazine uses their own photographers, but if neither is possible then the magazine will use whichever photo they can/want?

I take opiates for bone pain. My son had a heroin nasal spray when he broke his arm. You don't take these things lightly. Doesn't sound right to me.

Typically opiates are for pain. Yes you do not take such a medication lightly, but they do work. I've never heard of them being used for a fever-Tylenol or aspirin does the trick. He must have been using it for pain.

As a fellow bone pain sufferer who takes opiates on a regular basis I concur. Opiates are only given out for extreme pain, not a fever. Well, at least where I'm from. I know he cannot take aspirin & ibruprofen..not sure about paracetamol tho. Sounds mighty fishy to me.

Indeed opiates is only for extreme/serious pain where normal painkillers simply do not work as not strong enough....

Cheers Moz
