The title of a track from WPINOYB is taken from a Nicholas Blake (pen-name of Cecil Day-Lewis) detective novel, The Smiler With The Knife (1939 - date correction by Emil). The phrase itself comes from Chaucer. The name of Blake's detective protagonist? Nigel Strangeways.
