Manic Street Preachers wanted Morrissey for their new album

Nicky Wire's minor obsession with the Manic Street Preachers continues. On the Manics up coming album "Rewind The Film" the band have brought in some some guest to perform. Richard Hawley (another Morrissey link there), Lucy Rose and Cate Le Bon will all be lending vocals to songs. In this interview, James revels that there was one more artist that they really wanted to contact and ask to join them. That artist being Morrissey. James says that they couldn't make that phone call to Morrissey. They were just that scared and certain that Morrissey would turn them down. Pity really as it could have been a good opportunity. The Manics have one album out in September this year and another around March/April 2014.

A missed opportunity. For Morrissey as well as for the Manics.

The advance reviews for the September release of "Rewind The Film" have been very favourable for the Manics. If you're not a "hero" of Morrissey, then he won't appear as a guest on a album. Morrissey doesn't play second fiddle to anyone.

Except for the Bowie tour. And U2 at Glastonbury. And all the rest of it. He's probably just jealous of the whole 4 Real Richie authenticity/tragedy memes which make him look like a decades long faker/piss-taker nowadays. Or so some folk are saying..

Wished they contacted Morrissey, but think he declined anyway, Morrissey
just cancelled USA tour, His health problems though thinking about the oportunity
gives me a sorta wasted chance, even there wasn't one, it could have helped Morrissey
on a more positive way, and one can never imagine what could have become, Morrissey with the ' Manics' even for a song.

Hope if there comes an oportunity to be guest on an album/song ever, Morrissey give it a try.
