Rolo McGinty of The Woodentops on seeing Moz's "I'm going to die" face...

I find it hard to believe that anyone would throw any gladiolus at Rolo. Also, I like the part where he says they too were "toying" with the same riff Johnny used for HSIN. Okay, sure.

Nice to hear about his reflections of touring with The Smiths .
Yes Klaus, I agree it is odd of his hinting that Johnny could have "taken " his riff and used it in 'How Soon Is Now'.
O well, glad he is a Smiths fan now.

Isn't "How Soon Is Now?" a cross between "Bo Diddley" and Hamilton Bohannon's "Disco Stomp"?

The same message rings again through this interview....don't mess with Morrissey! It does seem a bit of a rubbish excuse to stop being support though. Morrissey's character seems slightly more bitter even back in The Smiths days from people's point of view, though Rolo does say that by this time The Smiths were tired. I can probably guess the Morrissey/Marr relationship was beginning to sour at this point.

Does one think Rolo still has roadies or does he get his valet to do it?

I don't really get the story. The Woodentops and The Smiths were in separate cars on the road, but the driver of The Smiths' car was Rolo's friend Dave and when Rolo waved at him, Morrissey got upset and decided to throw him off the tour? Because Morrissey thought that Rolo was acting up to distract the driver so that he might crash?

Bitter much, M. Rolo?!! Geez!!

Gotta love the story about Moz throwing them off the tour, though:p
