News just broke that Margaret Thatcher has died today coincidentally.

Bought the album today - a little disappointed in the packaging if truth be told. The cardboard is decent enough, but there's no booklet, and the picture on the inside is from the same photo shoot as the cover.

That sucks. If I were Morrissey, I would have put a photobook inside with pics of the original recording session of Viva Hate. I would have also included some of the rehearsal outtakes. I think it would be cool to hear the songs come together. :)

Only you would think it were a good idea to put photos from Viva Hate in the Kill Uncle liner notes...

wonder if ' playboys' make the UK top 40

Playboys is the #1 digital single on Amazon UK. Too bad they were selling it days before it was supposed to be released...it would have made for a better chart position.

Cool.

oh, what a shame. this will get absolutely zero media response because of Margaret Thatcher's death. Unless, of course, Moz is scribbling something controversial for Julia right now...

When will Stephen Street be re-mastered ? (!) Sorry but I just had to say that. It would have been interesting had the whole album been re-recorded with a decent piano or a transcription by the man: Boz Boorer. Still, one can live in hope that these songs will - one day - get a musical backing that they truly deserve.

Enjoy,

So, did anybody actually get this? I've been waiting to hear people's thoughts on this remaster, but nobody seems to care!

Some people actually posted in here

it was his weakest link album first time around, no amount of remastering can put lipstick on that pig. It's mostly rubbish. Haven't listened to it since it came out, see no reason to start now. Deleting it from the catalogue would have made more sense, and offering money-back offer on Ebay to repurchase every single copy for landfill.

According to buzzjack.com, neither kill uncle or playboys have made the midweek 40

The Kill Uncle reissue has had about two minutes thought spent on it, I did buy it knowing the pointless messing about with the trackisting but did expect something of note, there isn't any form of inlay / booklet. It's a cd in a folding piece of cardboard. The Electronic reissue which came out the same day puts this thoughtless piece of crap to shame.

Waldo.
