I haven't participated in a poster contest since 12th grade. The only reason I won was because I was the only participant.
So, I'm surfing, doing my rounds, when I get to Veer.com, a favorite source of mine for fonts and artwork. They were sponsoring a digital poster contest, where they give you a folder of assets and you have to design the poster using one or some of the assets: fonts, photos, and vector art. This was my result:

No longer a member of the "99 Week" brigade and I'm thankful. I feel like this could be a new beginning and a way to get back on my feet again.
New York has given me a second chance. New neighborhood, new building, and new responsibilities. Having a full-time job is exciting; keeping a full-time job will be the biggest challenge. Let me just get through my probation until November.

A friend recently turned me on to a site that allows designers to pitch designs. One particular project caught my eye; an opportunity to submit a design for an annual music compilation. The client, in their written brief, requested, "fluro colours, bold text and maybe a hint of Ibiza/summery imagery" and "feel instantly light, summery and put a smile on your face." Sound good so far.
