Not a fan of the extended version which kind of goes nowhere. The live version from "Introducing" is much better than the studio version. Wish they'd release that on DVD. Anywho, wonder how Moz feels about DM complimenting him. He wasn't very thrilled of them in the 80's. Wonder if he's changed his mind aobut them.

Morrissey's cover of Moon River is amazing, I've always loved it (including the extended version). Martin Gore is a genius like Morrissey, and this should only be a compliment to Moz.

Martin Gore is a Moz fan (Score:1)
I was totally surprised when I saw him at the Santa Barbara show in California during the last tour. It was awesome! Really nice that he came to support Moz. I truly wonder what Moz things of DM, too. They've integrated more guitars since the Songs of Faith & Devotion album. I do miss Alan Wilder's polyphonic melodic contributions, though.

        cheers,

        Lyric changes (Score:2, Informative)
Is this the only cover that Morrissey has made significant lyrical changes to (not just dropping verses but rewriting)?

        Morrissey changes:

Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.

        To:

Two drifters off to see the world
I'm not so sure the world deserves us

        And:

We're after the same rainbow's end
        Waiting 'round the bend,
        My Huckleberry friend,

        To:

We're after the same rainbow's end
How come it's just around the bend?
It's always just around the bend?

He adapted things to The World Of Morrissey. Can you imagine him singing "Huckleberry"?

Has Moz ever commented on this cover?

I love Morrissey's interpretation of Interlude, but without Siouxsie. I think She'd spoiled the cover, because of her unelegant and nasal voice, she hasn't born for interpretating such delicate tunes. Morrissey did it in such a lovely way...
