Mike Joyce's "Meat Is Murder" gold disc auction this Thursday at TV21, Manchester

Hello all!

Mike Joyce has kindly donated his gold disc of Meat Is Murder to be auctioned off at a charity event this Thursday evening. It's an exciting opportunity for all Smiths fans to own a piece of musical history.

Also for auction will be a gold disc of "(What's the Story) Morning Glory", donated by Bonehead, along with a guitar signed by the Enemy. There's also signed prints of I Am Kloot and Elbow. Again, ALL proceeds will be going to charity. Local bands such as Frazer King and The Words will be doing live seets too.

There will be a small entrance fee, whatever the entrant feels is appropriate, and it all kicks off at 8pm.

I am suprised that Mike Joyce is giving items such as this away.I know its for a good cause but its a piece of history from a great album,One of only four in the world!
Something to show the Grandchildren.

          Can't this guy just go away? It would be nice if we didn't even mention him on Moz-solo but then I understand we Smiths fans like to know about the collector's items. I just want my good memories of the The Smith's left alone. Anyone know what I mean?

                I think it is very nice to donate such a record to charity and have the proceeds given to someone in need. I salute Mike, and I salute Moz for his donation to the Salford Lads Club.

                  If Mike Joyce would risk his life & rescue children from a burning house, people on this site would still find fault in that.

                  In my eyes itīs very nice & even noble of Mike Joyce to donate this gold disc to charity. Apart from the financial value, it probably also has some emotional value to him. No matter what happened between Morrissey & him later, they lived a great adventure at the time & this disc is a reminder of that.
