Distinctive Voice (Score:2, Interesting)
It is sadly a fact that if you don't have a singer with a distinctive voice your band will never really make it that 'big'. Think about it for a moment. Any successful band you can think of has a singer with a recognisable vocal style, even if it's not necessarily a technically 'good' voice.

You can have amazing band members and great songs, but without a stand-out vocal you're doomed.

I would go so far as to assert that without Mozzer's voice The Smiths would not have been half as successful as they were. Even with the lyricism and the charisma, without the sound of his voice they would have been a lesser band.

                A number of people sound (a bit) like Morrissey (Score:0)
                Especially the lead singer for the Smoking Popes.

                But what's really on my mind is: how old is that Zach Condon fellow of Beirut? He looks maybe 14 at the most.
