Johnny Marr: 'The Smiths are not reforming'

Johnny Marr has declared there is no foundations to recent stories that his old band The Smiths are to reform.

Marr issued a statement to NME.COM saying that rumours floating around that the band were reuniting were "untrue".

He declared: "The stories circulating about a Smiths reunion are, as usual, untrue."

Marr added he was committed to his current band The Cribs.

"I'm currently very excited about writing and recording with The Cribs for a new album to be released next summer and we're playing shows in February, so going back in time isn't in my plans," he said.

Well who would have thought!!... (Score:1, Informative)

There I was getting ready for the Moz/Mike wink and handshake, Andy's bank manager to grin again and for Mr Marr to drop off a cassette to Morrissey's house so that he can hear a few Jangles he has been working...and then NO...Marr says NO.......again.

Please can we all let this thing die!!?? Moz & Marr have said it is not going to happen at least 5 times.....it's over.

There were a fcukin great band....that's it!

I still can�t believe that these rumours are going round. Let it go! it�s over! just let it go NME.
However, nor can I still get to grips with Marr playing for the Cribs.... But we have to be supportive of these things.

Is it only me who thinks that The Smiths should just remain as ��The Smiths��. The Smiths that produced great albums, music and legacy.
If they were to reform, it wouldn�t be the same.

Anyway....
