Great Commentary, for the most part... (Score:1)
But I must say, it's already becoming quite tiresome, this pathetic need to show that one isn't racist or against black people. I have read about or heard about more artists who used to regard 80's and 90's rap/hip-hop as vile now coming out with statements like the one Johnny Marr made about Jay-Z and Def Jam records.

Okay. Barry Obama won the election. Okay. You think that's cool. Fine, fine. Now fucking shut up already with your fake effort to cast your own "wide net" to include a music or a culture or a scene that you know nothing about, have no attachment to, and, especially as it relates to music, you used to denegrate before a 2008 United States Presidential election.

It never ceases to amaze me how hypocritical artists can be... I hate to say anything negative about Johnny Marr, who in my book is second to none in song writing and guitar work, but doesn't anyone else get a bit chaffed to read an article that repeats the mantra "don't do it for the money" the same week The Smiths re-release the same songs that everyone already has, simply repackaged and re-written about?

Johnny and Morrissey still have a lot in common, I guess...
