i've been mexican all my life and living in los angeles.... there is nothing unique about morrissey fans, this article is rubbish and makes us look bad..."Roaring lowriders cruise the streets in all their airbrushed glory; salsa and booming hip-hop drift endlessly from open windows." HUH??? okay you lowriders every here and there, no one plays salsa, and this isn't a chicano comic book.... it's no different here than anyother place, just more crowded. "a complex, intricately nuanced community of first generation Latino-Americans struggling to define themselves".... bullshit! just a bunch of latinos who all dress the same (psycho, rockabilly)....THE SAME!!! because they are slightly overweight and nothing else really looks good on them..... i love moz and have listened since 87.... but i also grew up in huntington park california & east los angeles... and this article only tells you how these people wished to be viewed by the rest of the world, but the reality is that they are living in a poem...... Look im a Mexican-American and love my heritage, but I cant stand the greaser look, like if it is a requirement to look like that if you listen to MOZ and vise versa. I grew up loving Morrissey and still do, but I feel like people (like those in the picture) that dress that way or have that look only listen to MOZ because it goes with the look. Out of the 10 times i've seen MOZ it gets worse and worse and one day those teenagers, Who love you, They will wake up, yawn and kill you. I understand that the Smiths started with that same look but its enough. Just listen and love MOZ for being himself and for his beautiful words.
