Not sure how news-worthy this is or not, but Alan Brandt of my local radio station 90.5 WUOL in Louisville, KY covered Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want on the ukulele. Pretty decent cover actually.

Louisville’s 90.5 WUOL plays The Smiths on the Ukulele - Backseat Sandbar

Alan Brandt of 90.5 WUOL, the Louisville classical sister station to 91.9 WFPK, has created a great and yet terribly absurd video presentation of himself performing “Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want” by the Smiths on the ukulele. A great instrument plus one of the greatest songs by one of the greatest bands…equals…something

The 'Blair Smith Project' ruins it.

...after that other band's horrible rendition of "I Won't Share You" - you'd figure that content selection/filtering for this site would be slightly modified for the good of humanity... this, my friends, is horrible. What next? Somebody playing "Stop Me..." with their armpit? Better yet, I hope somebody lipsyncs to a horrible cover of a cover of something like "There is a Light" or "I know it's Over."

Everybody's an artist nowadays, right? Nothing is sacred.

Ukulele is such a great sounding instrument. That rendition sounds great especially the instrumental piece at the the end.

Also well spotted with the Golden Lights....
