I hope Jerry makes it!!!

Sad news. I certainly hope he pulls through in good shape.

I'm thinking good thoughts for you Jerry!

But it must be good news that he's able to communicate so soon. I hope so anyway.

We all hope that Jerry pulls through ok. It was sad to hear of Jerry's troubles. May he make a full recovery soon.

it's very sad and I feel for those close to him... but not knowing the man personally, I can honestly say my biggest concern is that he is done with Years of Refusal and this won't result in a delay.

Best wishes to Jerry Finn. Not just because he produced the great "You Are The Quarry" that re-started Morrissey's music career with such a big impact. There's a rather large number of CDs in my collection that have Finn's name in the liner notes, which I'd only noticed after becoming familiar with Finn's name when he hooked up with Moz.

Not to get too cliche` or touchy-feely - but this just goes to show that no matter how good (or bad) we have it, we are all mortal and should embrace the good days, the bad ones and all of 'em in-between. My best wishes and prayers to him, his loved ones and all of his admirers.

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything. But it's not entirely clear that Mr. Finn's family wants this to be public knowledge - they haven't released a statement or anything, right? And none of the news services has picked up on this, far as I know.

I hope you do get better soon Mr Finn.

he has already placed a pair of Tannoy SGM-10's (mastering lab crossovers of course) bi-amped from 2 Hafler Transnova 9505's in the hospital room, placed a cd changer with the entire clash catalog (sans Sandinista perhaps) and is cranking it full blast.

I had the opportunity to assist for him on a record a few years back and I have to say that he is the Arif Mardin of punk. One of the coolest and classiest guys on the planet, never yells at anyone or gives anyone the feeling of inferiority. He came up through the ranks and deserves his success, He is the best producer I have ever had the pleasure of working for and MOTHERF#*((R if this has to happen to him of all people. Knowing him, he will make a full recovery.

Keep steady and keep patient. Many are praying for you (a rosary tonight from me!). It sounds like you have a great team of support. You will get through this.

"A massive brain hemorrhage" is as serious as it sounds.

This news reminds me of what happened to Edwyn Collins (Orange Juice singer) a few years ago. It's taken Edwyn years to learn to speak, walk and sing again - he's by no means fine now but his recovery is extraordinary, but then Edwyn is an extraordinary person.

I just hope that Jerry Finn's condition is not as bad as Edwyn's, or if it is then that he manages to make as amazing a recovery. Either way, you don't just walk out of a hospital after brain hemorrhage and go back to the day job.

We should all send our prayers to Jerry and his family, as I'm sure Morrissey would want us to.

My prayers are with Jerry and his family for a soon recovery. I hope the best for him.

He's a sweet guy, knows how to take criticism like a man and remain professional about it:) We had email conversations just before the release of You Are the Quarry, which I have Morrissey-solo to thank. I hope he gets healthier goes back to living his life normally.

Very sad news indeed. Jerry Finn is the best producer Moz has ever had, and by all accounts is a great guy. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

We all want Jerry to get well! My dad had a brain hemorrhage in the early nineties and nearly died. He was in 50/50 chance of surviving. He made full recovery and did'nt suffer any physical effects, unlike singer Edwyn Collins who also suffered brain a hemorrhage.
Also it's just Morrissey's luck ain't it that someone close to him or works with suffers a tragic fate?
It's bad enough losing his friend Kirsty McCol and Director Tim Broad. We don't want Jerry to go the same direction.

the Quarry b-sides alone are some of my faves. i didn't realize he was so young. best wishes jerry.

Well accoridng to the rec forum someone in the know has stated that as of Aug 13th, Jerry is still indeed with us.

He apparently has had his feeding tube removed, and all of the internet hype about his being "dead" has upset his family and close friends. Not throwing stones here, I sent his sister a condolance email 2 days ago prematuraly and am a part of this too.

As a childhood friend of his, I still have hope for the best. But please lets chill out until we know the facts.
