Every year! It never ends, its mindless lazy tripe. People all over the world who just dont get how important Moz has been for a quarter century now. Its bad enough that when your co workers find out you are a Moz fan and them saying "Hey Bill, try not to kill yourself after the show". Funny thing is that they are always suprised when I answer "I'll be fine but feel free to kill yourself tonight, we'll have a party tomorrow"....the same people who describe THEMSELVES as popular funsters, always ready to tell you how fucking fantastic they are, the same people that laugh at the end of every sentence, Every sentence THEY SAY that is. All that crap is bad enough but now another "Pope of mope" story.

I'll ask this, who amongst us has not laughed out loud at a Moz lyric? the new stuff or stuff dating back 25 years? Its filled with humour, if you cant see it then its YOU that is the sad one and certainly not his fans, when the last time you laughed at an Elton John lyric? Or more to the point a Bernie Tompkins lyric? Sir Elton...fucking sir...The Proclaimers are right to say you wear your self respect upon your bended knee, if you want sad shit what about that wanker setting up residence in Las Vegas? How about the Rolling stones charging $400 a ticket? How about Rod Stewart? How sad it that fucker? How about Sting? An entire life working as hard as he can and he still cant cover up the phoney he is! The whole Gangster mosogynist rap scene? Amercan/pop idol? Take your pick, there are million more example's but leave Moz out of your bullshit article.

It's funny how someone like Morrissey who writes his lyrics from the heart about human emotion and experience, gets labeled with something so ridiculous. I suppose it takes someone with above average intelligence to see past this crap and into the brilliance for which we all adore him.

I think it is actually a compliment to be the saddest lyricist! Morrissey's lyrics are humourous and sarcastic at times but the fact that are so personal and emotional makes them a bit sad sometimes...

Why is Moz so misunderstood? (Score:0)
I don't find his songs depressing. I think he's really funny. Even his "sad" songs are funny... "Oh mother I can feel the soil falling over my head"... that's such hyperbole that it's brilliant, and although the sentiment of "I know it's over" is sad, his lyrics make it nearly ridiculous. That's what's so good about morrissey.. he knows he's being over the top. But it's that same over the top-ness that makes him so endearing!
