Just saw the following notice from Rough Trade; it might be a good opp for Moz-solo readers whose bands could cover The Smiths! There are already some Smiths songs entries up on the contest site.

"To celebrate Rough Trade's 30th anniversary, the mythical label organizes a great cover-versions contest in partnership with French weekly magazine Les Inrockuptibles and opens its prestigious catalog to all the artists registered on the website cqfd.com!

The jury, composed of Geoff Travis and Jeannette Lee, (Directors of Rough Trade), and JD Beauvallet (Music Editor of Les Inrockuptibles), will chose the winner on the 12th of May.

The winner will release a single on Rough Trade Records.
