helpful advice for people flying to israel (Score:0)
if you intend to take a flight to tel aviv, don't take an EL AL or an israeli charter (arkia, israir or sun d'or). you would be posed security questions, and many chances are that they'll decide to search your luggage. if you have to, don't fly by yourselves, groups of 5 or more are much more helpful concerning the interrogation. be organized, show seriousness, show papers and reservations, prove that you're really a music fan and not some weirdo being sent to israel by an unknown saudi sheikh.

on the way back from the israeli airport home, you have no choice but to be interrogated, but again - grouping together helps, showing photos and receipts and itineraries also.

from an ex-security officer in israel ;)

If you are against Israel, you have it all wrong (Score:0)
I for one am glad that Morrissey is playing Israel. Israel is a beautiful country and it functions as liberal democracy in a region of the world where there are not any. I, as a Jewish American (and ravenous Morrissey fan!), am not entirely fond of Israel's actions in the Palestinian conflict. I have been to Israel, I see how the Palestinians live, and I will admit that Israel does handle Palestinans somewhat oppresively. But, you must understand, that Israel survives amongst others who do not even acknowledge its right to exist, who have declared the purpose to destroy Israel and Judaism, and who practice an oppresive fundamentalism of their own that is very much against British and American ideaology as well as basic human rights.
Israel is not blameless. But if all you had to call your own was a tiny parcel of land, about the size of New Jersey, surrounded by sworn enemies, you would act harshly as well.
Israel is an ally of the Western world, offers so much both culturally and economically to the world, and its people are kind and peace-loving whose only desire is to exist without the threat of total destruction. I am very pleased that Morrissey is playing a concert in this wonderful country.

Oh, and those who have a problem with me being an 'anonymous' poster, it is only because I always have problems loggng in under my own account, 'Johnnymarred'.
