We have a story coming on the convention too, but I thought your readers might want to see photos from the LA show/event that happened over the weekend.

Well yet another fun time at the L.A. Smiths/Morrissey Convention! This edition had the return of a great tribute band all the way from Dublin, Ireland "These Charming Men" - and they were fantastic! The new location at Downtown L.A.'s Crash Mansion was a bit smaller- but packed to the rafters with fellow Moz fans!

The "Ultimate of Faz" at the front of the line - they arrived 6 hours early for the festivities to begin.

            Every photo shows a bunch of ugly fat ass posers who claim to be "fans" it's disgusting, almost as disgusting as that idiot chick with the monster pompadour wig. And how could Gary Day or that sycophant "DJ" Larry rear their ugly heads to show up at a joke fest that is the "Morrissey" convention?

                'It was a good LA' convention (Score:1)
                It was an overall fun time and everyone glamourously decked out and representing Moz Angeles. I would say average age was late-20s to mid-late 30's, those of us kids who really caught on to Moz as teens/preteens when he was played on KROQ FM and perhaps people's younger siblings 'under the influence' of their older brothers'/sisters' Moz-love.

                Collector's tables were of course marked up but found some really cool ass shite such as a boot' of my very first Moz show (6/1/91 - only audio unfortunately), Joy Division DVD, very early Cure studio sessions, a lot of Moz's singles from the early solo days (wuhoo!).

                As a fan, it was totally worth going. There was no drama and it was all about our love for Moz and The Smiths.

                The girl in front row was actually carrying flowers. Where did she think she was? In Coventry 1984? Has anybody told her that it wasnt't the Smiths that she saw?

                      Despite the poor-quality video, aren't These Charming Men eerily convincing? It's so strange to see them interviewed and hear the Dublin accent, then converted so completely to sound like Morrissey on stage! They put everything into their shows, they're devotees spreading the joy. I feel proud of them. : )
