'Panic On The Streets Tour' - London (Jan. 24)

Phill Gatenby writes:
I have been asked if I would organise a tour of the top Smiths / Morrissey locations in London on the 'blank' Thursday during the Roundhouse gigs.

This is fine, here is a suggested day trip of the places I feel fans will want to visit but happy to include other places if they are within easy reach of other places within the time available.

The cost of the tour would be £5 per person + the cost of an off peak Travel Card on the Underground / Bus (this would be cheaper than using the Oyster card)
Please purchase a zone 1-4 Travel Card costing £5.70

Proceeds from the tour will be donated to The Salford Lads Club and Morrissey-Solo to help with the up keep of the site.

NO NEED TO BOOK - JUST TURN UP ON TIME!!!

Meet outside EUSTON STATION (British Rail) at 10.30am. Outside the main entrance there are some benches. If raining, meet inside by the 'Hole in the wall' ATM cash machines.
Please be prepared for a bit of walking from the various tube stations to the sites - not a lot from each one, but over the day it will add up!

Suggested Tour:
Euston Station
The East End (Grave Maurice, Tench / Reardon Streets, Vallance Road, West Ham Boys Club)
Sloane Square / The Suedehead House / Oscar Wilde's house
Piccadilly Circus
The Rock Garden - The Smiths first London venue
Ending at Geales Fish Restaurant where we all have a big row and split up!
Any other places people want to go?

I'll contact The West Ham Boys Club and see if we can arrange a time to go inside, but it is a small building attached to a pub, nothing like the grandness of The Salford Lads Club building. I will also contact The Rock Garden and see if we can go down into the basement room where The Smiths performed twice.

For those unable to be in London on the Thursday but want to do the tour another day, I will produce a 'Print Out And Keep' guide to the places above so you can do the tour in your own time. This will be posted on the 'Tour' forum on the messageboards before the gigs commence.

NW1. Morrissey lived here in the 90s. Neighbours would have included Alan Bennett and Johnathan Miller. And me, roud the corner. Alan Whyte lived just up t' road.
