The Smiths will be featured on VH1 Classic (in America) "7 Ages of Rock" documentary. Series #7 is about the British Indie Scene. Judging by the preview, Johnny Marr will be interviewed, and the Smiths will be heavily featured along with Oasis
and Blur.

Should be a good show. See the preview here.

I saw this program over the summer in England (I'm American) and it is really good!! A great program in general, but as far as the Smiths stuff, there is some great footage I had never seen before. It shows the band playing live and backstage and some other bits. Johnny Marr is interviewed...I forget if anybody else was (definitely not Morrissey though.)

If I remember right, that particular show started with the Smiths (kicking off British indie), then moving on to "baggy" (Stone Roses, Happy Mondays), then all things Britpop after that (91-96), and closing with current British indie bands.

I do remember one funny Morrissey moment: a crowd of screaming fans saying "I love you Morrissey" and Johnny (or one of the others) shouting "I don't think he's interested!" Something like that...it was pretty funny!

The whole series is great...be sure to catch them all! Well, maybe not the metal.

For any of you Septic Tanks that have not seen this, it's a great documentary and it is well worth a watch - it aired on BBC in Britain over the summer. And for a bit more of the 'Noel Gallagher on The Smiths' segment, visit YouTube to watch his flattering and funny assessment.

Good Show- Posted on YouTube Months Ago (Score:0)
I think this was posted on You Tube 4 months ago or something. I watched it (or the first 8 parts of it) and it was great. Marr is such a cool guy in interviews. Also interviewed were band mates of Oasis, Blur, Suede, etc. It was a good show and you should watch it. The first two parts (on You Tube)have a lot about the Smiths. I didn't see anything about New Order or the Cure in this. I put these bands in the same "British Indi". Anyway, it also talked about the whole Blur vs. Oasis thing from the mid 90's.
