Mrs. Morrissey ALMOST interviewed for TV [updated]

Update: 12/16 07:35 GMT: Merck Mercuriadis writes that the below about Morrissey's mum doing an interview on Irish radio is a hoax on someone's part.
---
Stiofán Hero writes:
Irish economist and TV and radio presenter David McWilliams said an arranged interview with Morrissey's mother fell through at the last minute for logistical reasons. According to an interview he gave RTÉ 2FM's Dave Fanning tonight (12.12.2007)where he also spoke about The Queen is Dead, McWilliams had arranged the interview with Mrs. Morrissey as part of a TV series examining the economic impact of Irish emigration, and the descendants of Irish ex-pats.

Now, that's really interesting....to put it mildly!
It would be great to hear how Morrissey's mother relates to the changing nature of Dublin, specifically, and Ireland in general. And Manchester!

Anyone who's Irish, or of Irish descent will find a vast range of amazing, and it has to be said, very heated discussion on David's site. From the topic of Ireland's inexorable economic rise through the Celtic Tiger years and the debate/discussion about how it now moves from being an Net Exporter of citizens (like the parents of Morrissey, myself and countless others of the Celtic Disapora) to being a Net Importer of citizens to fuel it's future growth.
I've been reading David for the last year after tip-offs from relatives in Kildare and Laois.
His site is not for the faint-hearts or the avowedly thick, but for anyone with a brain, it will provide a remarkably lucid backdrop to the complex cultural debate which Morrissey was, so rightly, wary of stepping fully into, with The NME.

Now: If David was to interview Morrissey. Well, I'd pay good money to be there live. Never mind all that bollix on BBC Newsnight!

      Fascinating!
      Peace!

If only they would reschedule! I am absolutely fascinated by Morrissey's mum.

I would rather see/read an interview with his mother than another one asking Morrissey the same old hackneyed questions.

Merck, I cannot see so good so I am going to make this short but I would like to thank you for clarifying yet another hoax. These people seem to thrive on perpetrating frauds and since the “NME” provoked their libel and slander, all of the “fans” who are perpetrating frauds, keep, keep populating and reproducing their multiple personalities and they have even now resorted to making threats against Morrissey’s life.
I would also like to say that nobody should ever have dragged Morrissey’s mother or parents into this; they should have left Morrissey’s mother and father out of it. Morrissey’s family is nobodies business.
I think your picture is very adorable.

      Thank You and Good Night

This is perplexing considering that Dave Fanning and David McWilliams are generally reliable with their information. The misunderstanding must have arisen somewhere else during the documentary design.
