After my urge to write "FUCK YOU, PAUL HEATON!" wore off, it hit me that the thing I'm angry about isn't that he's angry with Morrissey's views, it's that he's not understanding that Morrissey is entitled to his opinion just as much as Paul Heaton (or anyone) else is. Morrissey didn't persecute anyone. He was stating a general feeling that he has without claiming to have solutions to what troubles him. The tone of his side of the interview wasn't hateful or racist or even angry. He should be able to state his feelings and views without fear of reprisal.

Immigration has enriched this country over the years - it's been a positive thing. The present industrial levels of immigration to the UK however, is utter madness.

To want cultural identity which is founded on shared heritage and understanding is not racist. Racisim certainly exists with native Brits AND immigrants.

When you see entire neighbourhoods gradually turn in to pretty much entirely Islamic estates, with no assimilation whatsoever; you have to ask yourself who is actually perpetuating the divide...?

Race isn't the issue, but it can often come with cultural and religious baggage which clearly prevents full intergration.

Perhaps I'm trying to articulate the strange feeling of being kept at arms-length in one's own country - it's not nice and I sense the arm will grow stronger over time.

Paul Heaton is the pits. He obviously is still smarting fron all the attention The Smiths got in the 80s while his then band The Housemartins were relegated to the sidelines. Fair enough if Morrissey had said the things people are accusing him of then he should be taken to task . I have just this minute read the interview (I live in Australia) and what did he say that was so bad? Certain factions (NME,Bragg,Heaton etcetera) seem to want to read something really evil and sinister into Morrissey's comments.The simple fact is the race/immigration issue needs to be addressed rationally and calmly.Paul Heaton saying his kids class at school is culturally diverse and a happy one. I wouldn’t normally bother with this kind of thing however I feel I must as I have first hand experience of both Messers Heaton and Morrissey. And I must interject to state what I know/have heard about both these characters personally. I used to work in a pub in Leeds where the genial Landlord was very good friends with Paul Heaton. I used to serve Paul copious amounts of Castlemaine XXX regularly, and I can state without questions that he is a C**t of the highest order. He would also bang on all day drunk about how great a socialist he is and how the working man deserves better – easy to say when you’ve got fortunes. Apart from shouting his orders at all bar staff – not just me personally, he would demand preferential treatment. Abuse customers, throw peanuts or crisps around and generally be a twat. He verbally abused my now wife (who used to work in the same pub) about the size of her breasts. At Xmas time he would tell anyone who said happy Xmas – to him or anyone around him to “f**k off”. I witnessed all of the above and there are many other stories about this odious human being. Unfortunately I quite like the Beautiful South, but the man himself I wouldn’t piss on if he was burning – unless I could piss petrol. Im meeting all my old Leeds pub chums tonight – if anyone is interested in any more stories of this horrific man let me know and Ill take my notebook tonight. Now for Mr Moz, my Best mate was a catering firm manager. In 2002 he did all the food for Moz’s Royal Albert Hall Dates in Europe. Whilst he said that the Vegetraianism thing drove him mad in terms of logistically organising to Moz’s tastes of no meat whatsoever and ensuring all the food was prepared away from meat and no burger vans were around etc… He got to meet the great man and thought him charming. Also he stated that although a nightmare to organise they got paid above market rates for their troubles and the bonuses were fantastic.
