Linder Sterling interview in ID magazine

There is an interview with Linder in the current edition of ID (with Cate Blanchett on the cover).
The most interesting Moz mention is with regard to '24 Hour Party People'. Linder says:

'I saw the original shooting script for 24 Hour Party People and Morrissey was portrayed as a fumbling Goth, indebted to Wilson for teaching him all that he knew about pop music. Is that how you sell out Madison Square Garden faster than the Beatles - as Morrissey has - I wonder?'

The Beatles & MSG (Score:0)
The current Madison Square Garden opened after The Beatles stopped touring. I doubt The Beatles performed at its previous incarnation. Even if The Beatles had performed at the current MSG, it would be wrong to compare how fast the two acts sold out their shows because when Morrissey sold out his show, tickets were sold using a computer network that made each transaction faster and enabled more transactions to occur simultaneously.

That film never really showed how the 'label' slid into chaos and despair. That factory has subsequently descended into history lessons - how not to run a recording label or manage a business - shows what a disaster it had become and it is very VERY sad. That's the real story of Tony, Factory Records and the Stockholm Monsters plus the disco (building.)
