Norwegian filmmaker shocked by Marr's demand
posted by davidt on Thursday November 22 2007, @10:00AM

northpaw writes:
An upcoming film by filmmaker Stian Kristensen was to include smiths song "TIALTNGO" as a central part of the soundtrack, but due to far too high demand by j. marr this is not going to happen. Morrissey himself was going to settle for the average fee for a small budget film with limited distrubation (only scandinavian countries). The song will instead be replaced by antoher eighties classic "Just Like Honey" by JAMC.

Yet again, either Morrissey or Marr shoot themselves in the foot. They never did themselves any favours during the Smiths (I lost count of the amount of times I `gave them up` because of last minute pull-outs of Tv appearances), and they still don`t capitalise on their full potential. Still - I`ll always love em. God bless em. Yamaha

Since it involves Johnny Marr, people can't understand why he's being so "greedy."

Morrissey alone has displayed enough penny pinching greed throughout his career to make such a vague news item seem silly.

However, I still love Morissey's eight year old response to whether or not he has ever allowed a song to be used in a television commercial: "Not really."
