Mentioned on the Janice Long show this week, see this thread in the forums.

There is an audio clip in that thread too, in which Janice says "He'll be touring here before Christmas, will Morrissey, new album next year".

Found out tonight that Janice has it wrong. There will definitely NOT be any UK dates this year. Sorry for the confusion.

                  http://true-to-you.net/morrissey_news_070822_01

                  - re the current US dates was specifically that these were "the final 30 shows of the tour....the last Morrissey will do for the foreseeable future". i looked into going to nyc from london and decided it was too pricey. if i'd gone ahead with the plan i'd be annoyed (to put it mildly).

was that announcement regarding US dates only? it didn't say so. it said: "Morrissey's current tour began 18 months ago in Tulsa, Oklahoma...from the now-famous run of London Palladium shows to the Alexandra Palace, from Mexico City to Stockholm, from Omaha, Nebraska to the Hollywood Bowl, there have been many incredible nights all over the world.

"We are now delighted to announce the final 30 shows of the tour. These shows will be the last Morrissey will do for the foreseeable future. The desire is to go out with some great memories for everyone, as who knows what the future will bring."

so we might reasonably have inferred that the current US dates were the last (anywhere), and as a result people will have dug deep to get to them. of course it would be good news if he plays here this year. but it would also show that announcements on True To You may be er, unreliable.
