Part 7 of the current BBC Series 'The Seven Ages of Rock' is titled 'What The World is Waiting For' and will cover the story of the British Indie scene. The story starts with The Smiths and moves on to Oasis etc and other current day Indie acts. The show is to be aired on BBC2 at 9pm on Saturday 30th June. See link http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/sevenages/

Can we expect interviews with band members, rare clips or just soundbites from the usual rent-a-quotes? Should be worth a watch anyway...

Old grey whistle test (Score:1)
I was watching "The story of the old grey whistle test" last night on BBC 2 and Morrissey cropped up very briefly at the end. I was sort of expecting a bit more of either him or the Smiths. Never the less, still a very interesting programme.

I am human and I need to be loved, just like everybody else does.

"Have A Break" With Swallowneck (Score:0)
Swallowneck will be watching this on his plush sofa with a mug of horlics and a two-finger KitKat...

Now Swallowneck used eat the larger KitKats whilst watching television on a night, but apparently no longer. I actually questioned this and Swallowneck gave me a wry smile and said he could no longer "manage four fingers"!!!

    Yeah, right...

Someone at the Beeb loves him (Score:1)
Did anyone else see the trailer for Andrew Marr's current series about modern british history? The soundtrack was Panic - with loads of images of riots during the 70s & 80s. Cool.

I know that Andrew Marr is a huge Smiths / Moz fan, but someone else at the Beeb must love them as well :)
