Moz to play Way Out West festival? (Aug. 10)

Dake writes:
Due to a person well connected with The Pogues, they are confirmed to play the Way Out West Festival in Gothenburg, Sweden alongside The Flaming Lips & Morrissey on August 10th.

A few weeks ago a friend well connected with Ema Telstar (the promotor Morrissey usually works with in Scandinavia) confirmed Morrissey had been talking about coming to Scandinavia with Ema Telstar.

Now we can just pray that rumours are true.

flaming lips? (Score:1)
please, can someone tell me what the big deal is with the flaming lips? i always hear that they're so great and that they won a grammy, but really, what am i missing? I will be the first to admit that i haven't heard much of their music catalog, but if they're so great why is it that the only song of theirs that i can think of is that "she uses Jelly" song? I know what some of you out there are thinking, "well morrissey is genius, yet not many people know of him either." True! but even the most casual music fan knows that morrisey has more than one musical gem (if you can even call "jelly" a gem). I'm not evading giving credit to a band whose reputation as "innovative" is probably warranted (like i said, i haven't heard many of their songs), but can someone seriously tell me why and how they've manaed to craft such a reputation on a dumb song that came out 10-12 years ago and have never managed to hear any other song?

Allthough they got many really good bands there 1200 SEK is way too much for that kind of festival.

He is not too keen on festivals either, as he likes to remain in a clean and hygenic condition "just in case" any opportunity (in the form of a hunky Mikey Farrell look-a-like) comes knocking on his door.

By the way - anyone wishing to visit Sewersby Bridge this weekend for a casual dalliance with Swallowneck can rest easy in the knowledge that discretion will be of the utmost assurance, so your mother need never know!!!
