Russell Brand played the Liverpool empire last night. The glossy programme for the event features loads of Morrissey reference including the transcript of the Radio 2 interview by Brand with Morrissey earlier this year. There were many pages with reference to Morrissey including some photo's of a younger Brand entitled Used to be a Sweet Boy, a piece on his Vegetarianism under the banner meat is murder, a list of his favourite Smiths, Morrissey songs with reasons and loads of Morrissey photos.

At the start of the show he came out to Last of the Famous International Playboys and made reference to his cat Morrissey.

Towards the end of the show he asked the audience for questions and someone shouted out are you friends with Morrissey now, he replied yes, sort of, if you consider nodding your head in acknowledgment if you saw each other at a function friends, oh well no then not really.
