I just rang MVO, the number listed above, and they say that they are no longer handling Morrissey's tours. And Sanctuary records says they don't do anything for him either anymore...anyone have any idea how to find out about his current tour? Many thanks...Elena

the tour is over! The LA dates were unique. Fact is Moz is out of a record contract, while his Sanctuary deal was only album-by-album, and it's looking like he'll leave now that Merck is no longer with the company.

I can confirm this (Score:2, Informative)
When I tried to get my press tickets through Sanctuary, they said he's no longer with them and directed me to CAA which is his current representation for the time being.

CAA was able to provide me with tickets, but they're also very hands off with him and it seems like they're only a stop-gap in terms of representation. I have no idea what this means in regards to Attack though.

they're able to hock tour shirts through the label-owned website for some reason.

not that i doubt that he's no longer there considering the displeasure he voiced this year.

This is actually good news, maybe it supports the rumors of Morrissey signing over with Warner Bros. If so, expect to see much more of Morrissey around town when his new album is complete(new album confirmed according to Visconti's BBC interview). Warner Bros has big budgets to promote their artists through billboards, stickers, posters etc..

I dont think it will effect the integrity of the music either. Although WB is a larger than life label, and has obvious influence over the music industry(Green Day, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers), i dont think Moz would allow the contracts to hinder his creative freedoms. Plus the folks over at WB love him, and are craving for someone like Morrissey to be on their label. I think they are all tired of working on My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday promotions!

By the looks of things no-one will be on Sanctuary by the end of the year. They're apparently selling the record label off & just keeping the management/tour side.
Sanctuary aren't very good really are they? Ocean Colour Scene have been particualrly scathing of them along with Thea Gilmore. They signed her with talk of big promotion & did nothing.
Idlewild will be next to collapse under the weight of Sanctuary's uselessness.
Warners on the other hand pumped loads into making Barenaked Ladies big in Britain a few years back (at the expense of a band from my home town but nevermind) and they made Wilco pretty big in the States. They had to drop them, get sued & sign them again to do it but they got there in the end.
