It's always good to see how inspiring Morrissey, and his lyrics, can be... I'm impressed!

I think they're really nice. You really capture emotion in your art; they're moving interpretations.
I'd like to view them larger - is that possible?

completely missing the point, every one.

-think about the image/text relationship. is your image giving something that the text isn't? or does it show us the same thing, deadening the effect of both word and picture? the only one in which this happens at all is the "if you must go to work tomorrow..."
-think about intent and audience. what's the point? what are you trying to communicate here and why? it looks like you're playing around, which is fine for sketchbooks but you've got to give us more for a finished piece. all you show is people bored, and I'm bored by it. learn from Moz-- you can talk about boredom and desperation with PASSION!
-lettering. you've used digital type better than most, but hand lettering and image integrated text will give much much more of yourself, and will let you own words that aren't yours.
-I'd like to see more texture. everything looks so smooth, it doesn't tell different surfaces.
-proportions. work on 'em more.
-that gradient -- c'mon, man. draw. look at Arnold Newman's photographs, see how much the environment gives to the portraits.
that said, there is some beautiful drawing here, particularly in "if it's not love..."
just remember, how good you become is directly proportionate to how hard you work, how much you push yourself, how much time you put into it.

First of all, I am not able to attend the exhibit; I viewed these from the MySpace site, so forgive me if these questions have already been answered by you:

Are these pictures drawn from live models/friends/family? Are you working from photographs you or someone else have taken?

Is the purpose of your work to promote the lyrics of Morrissey? Do you regard your work as a more personal tribute? Are you interested in doing a series of some of Morrissey's lyrics post-Smiths?

Lastly, do you remember an artist named Barbara Kruger, who was best known with combining ambiguous slogans with graphic images? If not, who is your influence?
