Surely use of the word "free" implies that animals should be kept in cages, more than "wild", Moz? My dictionary defines free as "not bound", while wild is defined as "being in a state of nature". So I would prefer "wild" to "free" personally. Anyway, I suspect our connection with animals is precisely because of people like Attenborough and Durrell. And of course McCartney wrote "Yesterday". So, third out of these three would have been immensely flattering.

Interesting Interview (Score:0)
A rare, good interview from Moz. I'm not so sure I like the idea of him not having any "living heros". There has to be someone he looks up to. It would be sad if he didn't. Regardless, a good interview.

Morrissey would have a bit more respect for Attenborough, someone who has actively done more for animals than any Smiths LP could ever do. Sometimes he can be a real nip.

...that has no issues with this interview ? He might be a bit on the defensive, but to me appears self-assured,tongue-in-cheek- and convincingly flattered. And why shouldn't he be? He's had people literally throwing themselves at him for years, I'm amazed he's still this grounded. We also know that he speaks his mind, and if he doesn't look up to anybody in particular, well, surely that's ok ? It merely underlines his high standards, and really, in comparison to the deceased people he admires, who is on their scale ?

I really can't see anything diva-ish or offensive in this clip at all.

        Good interview .... (Score:1)
... but shame about the 'fan-boy' approach. I'm not necessarily suggesting that Morrissey should've been grilled by Jeremy Paxman, but a little beefier questions wouldn't have gone amiss. Besides, interviewers that giggle and fawn are really just missing the point really.
